One Breath Around the World is the latest aquatic spectacle from the French freediving champion Guillaume Néry, and his partner, the French freediver, underwater filmmaker and dancer Julie Gautier. Without the aid of supplied air, Néry plunges into the ocean's hidden depths, revealing remarkable views of marine geology and wildlife around the globe. Seamlessly transitioning between a range of underwater realms (like Yonaguni, at the beginning of the video), the video gives the impression that Néry's journey is taken in a single breath. With stunning camerawork by Gautier, who also held her breath while filming, the duo prove themselves expert explorers of not only water, but space and perspective as well, making these grand underwater landscapes appear almost alien.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. Sometimes it's hard to know which way is up in this beautiful video. It's one of the most stunning pieces of underwater filming I have watched. Sit back, relax and (hopefully) be amazed.

Thanks for sharing that! It was a beautiful video.

I thought Aqua-Man was fiction.

Funnily enough I also thought of Aquaman (I haven't seen it). Or perhaps The Man From Atlantis, a childrens TV series Patrick Duffy (of Dallas fame) played in many years ago.

I'll be honest. I can't swim (any more) so yes, terrifying but oh so beautiful down there. It's just a shame that some people, governments and industries use the sea as their toilet getting rid of things they don't want to dispose of properly. Hopefully that will slowly but surely change in the coming years.

There are some awesome groups of people working on cleaning the plastics and stuff from the oceans. We need people to stop polluting in the first place and be more environmentally friendly.

I don't swim either, more like float around. lol

I adore water though and am especially drawn to the ocean.

Awesome.

Anyone know why he is wearing string bikini bottoms on the outside of his wetsuit?

It's a weight, balanced behind his hips so he can do things like walk on underwater surfaces.

Actually, it's a two piece suit. It's not really a thong.

THANK YOU!! I appreciate that, Lume. I thought I was going to have to settle for Phage's brilliantly useful comment "For emergencies."

I never said it was a thong. I never would say it's a thong, because I know the difference between thong and string bikini style swimsuit bottoms. It's kind of hard to mis-identify a thong.

Hello LightSpeedDriver,

that is a beautiful video.

I am scuba diving, this video is really breathtaking but somehow, maybe it is just really professional made and the cold water has no particles in it..the viewing distance looks too far, it almost looks like computer made to me. It can be very good cameras of course, too.

I just write my observation. Thank you for sharing it with us
