When Trump won and immediately went about working to shut down any investigation into Russia's interference and contacts with his campaign, things pivoted quickly.

He probably just didn't want an international relations fiasco. Russia ALWAYS interferes in our elections if it can. And we ALWAYS interfere in theirs.

Always have.


But since the investigation operated from the angle of assuming Trump had promised something to Putin in return for help, it looks suspicious now.

So Trump has two choices:

A: Allow relations between the USA and Russia to be severely damaged by Muller trying to prosecute a foreign power for interfering in an American election. (Never minding all the elections America has rigged in South America, Iran, and the rest of the third world.)

B: Let the public think that maybe he did something wrong.
