None of those kids were a threat to that big MOFO.

Looks like he was going for maximum damage using those parking barriers along with his shoves and such too.
Who does that.

I wonder how that all started.

I don't think he was trying to use those barriers at all, you can see his attention was being spread around at everyone surrounding him. As for the threat, did you see about 5 posts back, with regard to similar groups severely harming or killing people in similar altercations?

Gave you a star though for being a current/past Z32 owner....

One on one? No, not a threat, but in a group like that, they are a threat. A group of kids like that can overwhelm an adult. I saw it happen in the middle school where I taught. I had it happen to me. I was put into the wall by a pack determined to fight and carry their fight into a restroom.

A bit hypocritical wasn't it.

But then some others will deal with his as he would theirs.

If I got surrounded by group of young punks trying to push me around and hit me, as well as someone else, your GD right I'm going to do everything I can to eliminate the threat. I don't allow people to use me as punching bag, period.

Wow. Disturbing. You are a sick human and huge pussy. They are children. That was girl.

You should think before you speak. Just where in my post did I ever say I would hit her? Please point to something I said that makes me a sick human being or a pussy? I said I would eliminate the threat, I never said how I would do it now did I?

I have two daughters and if they pulled that crap, I'm not so sure how much sympathy they would be getting from me, if any.

If you're stupid enough to poke a bear with a stick, don't be surprised when that plan goes south on ya. She got what she deserves. I guarantee you she's going think twice before going full on stupid again. I would hope anyways.

You should think before acting in any situation (as in assessing threats). I totally agree. When you are literally surrounded by a threat, and someone lunges at you with their fists up, all bets are off. You don't know what's coming from behind, you just react. Sorry to say it, but the girl got what's coming. That was pure defensive reaction.

Yup, the outrage/story here isn't whether the guy was acting in defense(based on the clip provided, it's highly in favor for him).

The real outrage/story is what's been pointed out already, what the hell is wrong with some kids these days. It's a serious parenting/societal acceptance issue.

Mr. Bell or his family will never have a moments peace until they move out of the area. Some people think revenge is appropriate when you slug their kid.

Maybe they should teach their kids not to act like animals.........

If that had been my daughter and I saw this film, my first question would be:

"did you learn your lesson"

Thats the problem now days, kids are coddled way too much, and have no concept of consequences for their actions.

It started when some of the kids were fighting, and a woman in that store got involved. He was trying to help that woman leave the store. They circled around them and what was recorded ensued. The store should have more video on what happened previously.

I also don't necessarily agree that they weren't a threat.
Our local mall has banned anyone under 18 after 3pm because of mob violence. It is the most
strictly enforced thing i've ever seen. So obviously mall security takes it as a serious threat.

It doesn't matter what I think. It's up to the courts to decide Bells fate. He will probably get probation, be required to take anger management classes and lose his job.

And never be able to feel safe when out in public, his kids will be bullied at school and a possible civil lawsuit... The question is....was it worth it?

I think Dr. Spock is part of the problem.

They do it because the Mall ends up being a sort of babysitter. That was one of the other things I picked up on during my time teaching middle school. A lot of the kids would talk about how their moms would give them money and send them off the mall to just hang out.

Nope, our was directly tied to mob action. Not sure about other malls.

"One eyewitness said Monday that anywhere from 80 to 100 young people went through the Boston Store, in the south end of the mall, about 15 to 20 minutes after security guards broke up a fight outside the department store entrance on the mall's second floor.

Stephanie Beyersdorf watched the mayhem unfold from her assignment in the junior's department, just inside Boston Store's glass entrance.

"They stampeded inside the store and knocked over everything in their way," Beyersdorf said Monday. "It was scary because you didn't know what they were going to do."

Ummm, since no adults are present and the kids are just hanging at the mall, roaming around with nothing constructive to do, what do you think they get up to? Particularly if you are talking about kids with no discipline and respect for adults like these?

Hint: They turn into mobs.

Those kids I taught? Kids exactly like these.

We have had the same issues here with curfews imposed on a couple of districts for exactly the same reasons.

I know, my friend teaches in that area.

She knows a young lady that could have be an olympic track star. Instead there is a rule in that girls family, when you are female and turn 16 you must have a baby. I wish I were kidding. She teaches kids like that every day.
