China's Mars rover/ tower on the moon.

With China recently landing the rover on the moon, I began to wonder why didn't they land somewhere near certain supposed buildings or towers that have been previously spotted on the dark side of the moon. The tower on the dark side of the moon is supposed to stand at around 4 miles high. There is also supposed objects inside craters on the dark side of the moon which resembles satellites or domes. Does China already know something about these objects and that's why they don't go these parts of the moon, or have they been told to stay away from some other source?

Neither. No doubt they simply do not take such reports as seriously as some woo-woos do.

I would say the burning question is why did they put a Mars rover on the moon?

I'm guessing they don't believe those things exist, but we'll see what they find. I've already seen people calling their successful landing a hoax.

Maybe they were aiming for Mars, but the damn Moon got in the way.........oh well.

I don't think this is worthy a new thread. It seems more like a hypothetical question that could easily be put on the existing thread. This would ensure that all discussion stays in one place, rather than a different thread for each and every comment.

Simply because such towers or buildings don't exist there?

I'd like you to show me the supposed towers or buildings in the high-rez imagery of the far side of the Moon.

Gordon Cooper didn't hide any NASA space secrets, and on this Russian interview about 60 min in, he describes how he looked over every inch of the Apollo film and saw no sign of any alien activity.

Most large craters have such features in them, and the physics of why they are there are well known. Hint: nothing to do with anyone or anything making them artificially.

They are on the moon because they want to show that they are on the moon. There are no buildings there for anyone to explire, and no-one is warning them off anywhere. If they were, they wouldn't have let China do a very detailed survey of the entire moon with their Chang'e-1 and Chang'e-2 probes.

The hilarious part of this is, there will eventually be full high res pics and videos of the entire moon, and mars. Showing, nothing but landscape.

And still, the conspiracy theories will be floated.

"HEY, look right here, it looks like these pixels were manipulated to hide the 1000 mile high alien mega death tower!!"

I'm not buying it.

That is the annoying thing - the their already is, certainly for all of the moon and a hefty chunk of Mars.

The Moon's entire surface has been photographed in high resolution by probes from the US, China and Japan. Probes from India and early ones from the US and USSR have very high resolution imagery of substantial parts of it. The resolution is such that even the early ones can pick out objects less than a metre across.

All of these images are freely available to anyone to download and check for themselves what is there, not to mention the fact that you can get very high powered amateur telescopes that would allow you to spot anything of any size up there. Yet what happens is that someone goes "hmm, seems funny to me", watches a youtube video and on the basis of nothing more than some vague and unsubstantiated conviction about something or other will pronounce a mission to be fake, or that there are objects being hidden from view, or some other BS that makes no sense and has no foundation in reality..

If people put as much effort into researching these idiotic beliefs as they do attacking actual facts and evidence there would be a lot more sense talked in places like this.

I have two of them.

The key words are "of any size", as in the sense of being pretty big rather than "anything at all". Like 5 mile high structures or large bases that some people with overactive imaginations claim are there.

Earth based telescopes will not be looking at the far side.
