The city of Westbrook, Maine shared amazing images on Monday of a giant frozen disk that formed on the Presumpscot River.

Alien-looking, gigantic rotating ice disk forms in Maine river

Looks like a frozen crop circle. Great drone footage in the video found in the link below. This ice disk has at least one professor scratching his head:

Matt Battle, an associate professor of physics at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, told the local newspaper that he's never seen anything like it.

“It’s definitely not being caused by the Coriolis force (that objects experience because of the Earth’s rotation),” Battle told the Press Herald. “It looks marvelous. It’s a beautiful thing.”

www.foxnews.com...

C'mon Professor, wouldn't this disk be caused by ice caught in an eddy pool? Yep, but it's more fun imagining that it's caused by something unexplained.

That is really cool to look at...I am sure it is natural.

However, has it been studied...maybe it is a start map...../sarc

Although nothing I have ever seen in my years of ice fishing, I can see how it could have been formed. Start with the shoreline side of the circle then look at the positioning of the water flow along the opposite side . Pretty cool looking regardless and something that might not happen ever again unless certain conditions are met.

Yeah. The water in the river started spinning some pieces of ice, and these grew into a natural semi-circle which is being sanded down into a near perfect circle. Quite the coincidence though, because several factors have to come together just right.

It's a miniature flat earth floating there.

That is pretty incredible, seems to have taken shape of the ice on the shoreline.

These are a perfectly natural occurrence and are well documented.

Throw a little sushi on there and I'm good...

Apparently these are pretty common and sometimes even manmade (chainsaw)...

Gosh I hate these clickbait articles and experts with no experience.

While I agree with you, doesn't it look like a reflection of the moon?

I too am very curious as to why this is so prevalent on ATS...

And why the MSM link?

Does everyone on ATS spend all their spare time glued to the TV or reading propaganda AKA 'news'?

Is the Fox link supposed to somehow give the post credibility?

Not kidding but I see this happening with different substances when I fill my bath.
I put the bubblebath in we have a mixer hose that hangs slightly above the water to the right. The water pours in slightly from the side and the bubbles start forming a disk that rotates.
I tried to film it once but thought it was too boring half way through and deleted it again.

I assume these ice discs are formed in a similar way. A current on one side, water freezes in a round disc formation, current turns it. Looks cool but absolutely logic [in my mind anyway].

The Breaking News Forum requires the headline of the source news article. This "clickbait" title is the direct headline from the article Einstein. If you want to complain about clickbait titles on this particular forum, maybe you should talk to ATS management.

What exactly does this topic have to do with aliens or 'breaking news'?

Don't look at it as a complaint, some of us are just curious...

Just sayin...

the ice is flat and rotating because the earth is flat and rotating.
