That's amazing.

I've watched some incredible documentaries on ants and bees.

I will never forget this one about these ants that farm caterpillars. They use them for the honeydew they secrete.
When the caterpillars are ready to turn into a butterfly the ants throw a party for them. I am being totally serious.

Does our inability to replicate consciousness hint at a higher form of intelligence operating within the universe?

If they use the brains of hive insects such as ants or bees I wonder if the artificial intelligences will have a hive mentality as well. It would be a useful attribute as well as a worrisome one.

I still dont think AI will be anything close to conscious I believe that consciousness is a field that affects biological life an not artificial life !
