i think it's more that they have no choice because russia is coming regardless of what they do, and have you not been paying attention? america, germany and a few other western nations are already fighting russia in the ukraine, so they do have backing just fine.
Do tell...... When was the last US deployment in Ukraine
Now in Ukraine there is an American military base in Nikolaev, a huge number of instructors at both the Yavorsky training ground and in the army, a group of American snipers and an unknown number of mercenaries from the Academy, formerly Blackwater
Helping train is not the same as the claim that US soldiers are in active combat w the Russians...... Also that's not a US base......
In the Donbas even a high-ranking CIA officer was taken prisoner. And how many dark-skinned Americans now lie in the land of Donbass - do not count.
And this was done by the Russians - miners, taxi drivers, farmers, metallurgists of the Donbass. The nation "Ukrainian" does not exist. It was invented at the end of the 19th century by a colonel from the Austrian General Staff.

there is no deployment since we aren't at war, but we have sent special forces to train ukraine, but i seriously doubt they haven't gotten further involved than just training. there is nothing official but i think it's pretty obvious why we're there with a bit of common sense. but maybe I'm wrong though, we'll see.

Why did you pick a deliberately misleading and inaccurate title?
I wrote what I wrote. If you read my posts, you should know that I work through Google translator

Which seems like a convenient excuse that would be pretty much impossible to prove.
I don't believe you are Russian, I actually think your probably a American (based on your vernacular) who likes to pretend to be a Russian because there is a strong pro-russian sentiment on ATS that is currently popular and your just playing on that. Now I cannot prove that just like you cannot prove that you're a Russian working through google translate other than to say that your posts simply don't read like that.
You picked a deliberately misleading title because while the "Russian" part of your user name may well be a lie but the "troll" bit isn't.

You're no more Russian than I am Australian....so not very much.
How about you stop that pretence and tell us all why you chose a deliberately misleading title?

It's funny how all the obvious "RussianTrolls" think that Americans don't criticize their country. Guess what? We do. I've made my criticisms of Bush, Obama, and Trump very public.
Womp womp!

So you admit that the Ukraine has not declared war on Russia?
AS such do you then also admit that your title is misleading?
Why did you then even bother with this thread?

So now that you have been called out for deliberately using a click-bait and wholly inaccurate title your unwilling to discuss it further.
Makes sense I I guess.

Yes I forgot to mention, which I was going to start a thread for but forgot last night, Ukraine was just given a $1.4 billion loan package by the IMF. That should keep them fighting Russia for another year at least, two if they budget properly.
IMF Executive Board Approves 14-month US$3.9 Billion Stand-By Arrangement for Ukraine, US$1.4 Billion for Immediate Disbursement
The authorities’ economic program supported by the SBA will build on the progress made under the EFF arrangement. The SBA will provide an anchor for the authorities’ economic policies during 2019 and focus on maintaining macro-economic and financial stability. The program will focus on four priorities: (i) continuing the ongoing fiscal consolidation to keep public debt on a downward path; (ii) further reducing inflation, while maintaining a flexible exchange rate regime; (iii) strengthening the financial sector, promoting asset recovery, and reviving bank lending; and (iv) advancing a focused set of structural reforms, particularly to improve tax administration, privatization and governance.
The approval of the SBA enables the immediate disbursement of SDR 1 billion (about US$1.4 billion). The remainder will be available upon completion of semi-annual reviews.
....
“Monetary policy aims to reduce inflation and rebuild international reserves within a flexible exchange rate regime. Safeguarding central bank independence will be crucial in this regard. Efforts are underway to address nonperforming loans, recover assets from failed banks, and improve governance in state-owned banks.
“Further progress on anti-corruption reforms and privatization will help attract investment and improve the business climate more broadly. Priorities include operationalizing the anti-corruption court, privatizing large state-owned enterprises, streamlining regulations, and advancing land reform.
Schweizer's book came out in March, but since then new evidence of the Biden family corruption has come to light. Schweizer told Hilton about a bank account unearthed in a New York conviction against Devon Hunter, a friend of the former vice president's son, Hunter Biden.
"A bank account that Hunter Biden drew a lot of money from and that a lot of foreign entities put a lot of money into," the author noted. "Just to give you an idea, over a 14-month period, from 2014 through early 2016, while Joe Biden is vice president of the United States, a Ukrainian company called Burisma — it's controlled by a very corrupt oligarch — sends three million dollars into this account."
"A Chinese government entity called Bohai Harvest — which is run by the Bank of China — sends $650,000 into this account," Schweizer added. "There's $1.2 million that comes from an LLC with a small boutique Swiss bank. We don't know who's behind the LLC. The bank itself has been charged in six countries for money laundering, so that makes it kind of sketchy."
How does this connect to Joe Biden? Not only was the elder Biden vice president at the time, but he was directly involved with the countries his son struck deals with.
"If you look at the trajectory of Joe Biden as vice president, he was essentially U.S. point person on Chinese policy, and he was widely criticized for going very soft on them as it related to the South China Sea," Schweizer said. "That’s at the same time his son is getting large checks from the Chinese government."
"Joe Biden is also point person on U.S. policy towards Ukraine, at the same time that his son is getting large checks from the Ukrainian government. And he’s accused of looking the other way at fraudulent behavior and corruption with the government of Ukraine," the author added.
