“Let’s legalize the adult use of recreational marijuana, once and for all,” Cuomo said during a speech in Manhattan outlining his 2019 agenda.

“The goal of this administration is to create a model program for regulated adult-use cannabis — and the best way to do that is to ensure our final proposal captures the views of everyday New Yorkers,” spokesman Tyrone Stevens told the New York Post last week, when previewing the proposal.

i really feel like we are close

last year Ohio went medical
this year MIchigan(and i think Nevada went legal)

little by little.

i am not sure i like the vague wording of 'regulated' adult-use' but im sure i can live with it

of course i am in favor of adult use only but 'regulations' could mean a lot of things.

even if the regulation is a little strict for my liking or a little high on the taxes it is worth it to me personally if that means i do not have to worry about random testing.
i hate to concede anything but this is reality

i need to have a job. bottom line

i would be 100% in favor of pre employment drug testing and testing if you get hurt.
none of this random bull#

sign a paper/waiver saying you understand that if you get hurt on the job you will need to pass a screen or no comp and youre out.
im down for that.

be an adult. make a choice

and when you think about it that argument does not hold water anymore.
'passing' a test.

more like 'getting past' a test

everyone is carrying fake piss on them every day.
yeah if you get your hand cut off youre not going to be in any shape to piss so theyre going to test your blood while you in surgery. youre #ed

but you get cut. need a few stitches?
no problem

hit the bathroom.... 'pass' the test..... get stitched up.

my point with all this is employers are delusional if they think that these randoms are doing much. yeah every time they do it at my job someone gets busted. not prepared.

theyre testing other people that are getting by with the fake stuff.
so they are not clean
but they have a job

my point is testing is a joke anymore. yes they are still busting large numbers of people big picture but that is still a small number compared to people getting past the test.

people just need to get over it

you can drink a 30 rack thursday night and go to work friday.

prescription meds? there is a joke also

so you get some percs and youre directions are 1 pill every 4-6 hours as needed. does not say do not drive or operate machinery. it says use caution and if you do it as prescribed youre ok.

but what about the dudes that had a script written 5 months ago and is scoring them on the street?
scripts are ok for the job for 6 months. as in as long as your script isnt older than 6 months youre good.

and then how about the dude that blasts 4-5 of them bitches in the parking lot before work and comes in feeling GOOD

he gets hurt. he pisses. he shows his script. he is good to go.

4-5 before work is not as directed but you can get away with it.

so when it really comes down to it they are busting people for marijuana.
benzos and opiates are only in your system for a few days.

so theyre testing for marijuana
popping a small number
a large number is beating the tests

can we just legalize across the board, tax this # and get on with life?
its 2019

Just a few years away from increased tax revenue, less tax spent on going after pot smokers, less spent on prisons, and lest people in prison.

seems like a no brainer to me

so that means there is some conspiracy theory backroom # going on with the gov or the prisons or big pharm.

for sure. 100%

has to be right?

millions of people smoke. this is a fact
millions of people smoke when it is illegal. this is a fact

millions of people will smoke when it is legal. they will pay the taxes. this is a fact

loads of tax money. less money spent fighting it. push the cartels out with the quickness.

seems like a no brainer. but it is not happening or it has not happened

so something is up...

Yep.
You have to be careful when the government wants to make it legal, before the people ask for it.
But I'm all for it.
Here in MI, we legalized it.
We have the lame duck going on.
They tried to slide a bill through, saying we could NOT grow our own, basically trying to give all the rights to big business.
Thankfully, it didn't pass.
We currently have the right to grow 12 per adult, and they tried taking that away from us.
Jerks.

This needs to start from the top - down. Trump should push to remove this as a schedule 1 substance. Then the rest of the dominos (states) will fall after that. I’m all for it - tax the crap out of it. Let the government make money off of it - as opposed to spending billions to stop it.

it has been decriminalized for a long time in ohio before it went medical

i think we are allowed to have 6 or 12 plants for personal use. this was even before the medial passed

you can have several ounces on you at any time.

so i ask again. what the hell is going on?

it is legal, medical or decriminalized in a lot of places.
sucks for you if you have a job though.

it just makes no sense

fight out the regulations and specifics. for sure

but lets ditch this random testing bull# now while we hash this out.

I mean.... He would definitely win again if he went on Joe Rogan's podcast... Hell, I might throw him a vote if he does.

i think he is a lock to win and if he went on rogan and/or made actual moves to legalize across the board like right now then i would vote for him too.

a lot of people that wouldnt vote for him otherwise would vote based on that alone

I think all this legalization is a way to keep lots of people stoned so they don't spend too much time seeking the truth on the net and other sources!

Michigan yes it's legal as of December 6th.
No you can't possess it or smoke it because it wasn't legal to grow before December 6th.

A legal catch 22 if they want to arrest you.

They are talking a paper trail if you get asked for it to make sure everybody pays the tax. I'm sure this will create nightmares for the courts. Would need to have receipts on you with you stash so it could be traced.

Lots of details to be figured out.

Old coworker is in a classic rock band, the first day it was legal his Director sent 10 people to be tested. 2 Failed and are gone, the Director thought he was pretty smart but he better be careful what he eats with the group from now on because he may fail!!

Recreational is legal here in Maine, but just barely. The taxing scheme for selling it is so complicated, it's been two years and while you can legally own/grow (a little)/use the stuff, you can't buy or sell it.

One idiot lawyer at a time, though. We'll get there...

not so happy are the hundreds of thousands of minorities whom forever have criminal records because of an 1/8th of pot , watching this amazing 180 on the plant.

i guess its all about 'demographic use'....

the taxing thing and regulation specifics need to be ironed out.
for sure

for me personally the biggest part of this issue is i want the randoms to stop

thats the major one

yeah the taxes and the regs suck as of now.
people have figured out how to get it on their own regulations and without paying the tax man since the beginning of time.
that is of course still in option

the no randoms is the most important.

personally

yup
that is a major bummer for them
i hope the gov does right by those people and lets em out or scrubs their record.
whatever

if they dont
that sucks

does not mean they should not legalize
