Makes one wonder if it was a real failure or if sabotage came into play given the previous Soyuz capsule was sabotaged.

Thankfully the crew is ok.

Where is your proof that the previous Soyuz capsule was sabotaged since you state that as a fact.

Dont know how to use search engines do ya...

/sigh

After this self-evident sabotage, it will be hard to continue the ISS project further then its currently scheduled end !
... cooperation in space will have to be reviewed ... It's not like Call of Duty Black Ops where fancy special forces can shoot down a launching rocket without any consequence.

Russia has already grounded its fleet pending a full investigation. 2019 is the earliest date for them to resume however I think the new NASA capsules will be ready and in use before the Russians but you never know.

Just think, before obama killed the shuttle program, we already had our own way up there.

He didn't kill the shuttle program. It was only supposed to last 15 years originally, but was ordered ended under Bush in 2004.

Was there anything interesting on that Soyuz spacecraft ?

How about a 3D bio-printer ... Something that can print human tissues including muscles nerves and bones for replacement of body parts, such as blood vessels. In the future this technology will lead to the ability to print complex parts like a hand or a heart.

Is there any reason some smart ass could shoot down the rocket just because according to them this is "classified" technology.

It's so classified that they said it was there. Amazing! And we all know that those only work in space. It's not like they can use them on earth.
