Banksy for the win. Painting sold for 1.4 mill self destructs

Someone purchased an iconic Banksy painting for $1.4 million on Friday, only to watch it immediately turn to shreds. Moments after the gavel came down on the sale of the enigmatic artist’s “Girl With Balloon” painting at Sotheby’s auction house in London, the painting passed through a shredder that had apparently been hidden in the frame.
The painting only went partially through the shredder. leaving half a painting intact and half shredded at the bottom, according to The Associated Press.

the vid/article said it is unclear if the buyer would still have to fork over the cash which seems like a dumb thing to even say.

of course they are not going to have to pay. they didnt take delivery and obviously it was not about the cash.

I loved Banksy does New York. Sooo much social commentary going on. My favorite part was the old guy selling original Banksy for $15 (?) when they were worth $50,000 (?). People were just walking by not even giving a glance at them. One person bought a few for a kids room that probably made her a ton of money.
