Very close to me. Lot of things have been happening here under the radar.

A car exploded Saturday night in Allentown, according to an emergency dispatcher.

The dispatcher spoke to Assistant Police Chief Gail Struss, who confirmed a car had exploded in the 700 block of West Turner Street. The call came in at 9:32 p.m., the dispatcher said.

Struss couldn't immediately be reached for more details.

The explosion was a block from the PPL Center and two blocks from Hamilton Street, a popular downtown dining area.

News of the explosion spread quickly on social media.

Just happened not much else to add. Something to keep an eye on as there has been a bunch of terrorist like activity in the news here over the last 2 years that's flown under the radar.

I remember they thought they had caught the guy they believed was responsible for the explosions in that area a month or so ago.

This just happened. But it's another one in a string of car explosions and other things like the shootings in Lancaster.

Wasn't there news a few months back of explosives being stolen in Pennsylvania?

Thanks for the intel.

It's good to have situational awareness at the national, regional as well as local level.
