That info has changed--the shooter is dead.

Well, the point still stands. They need to focus on taking them alive in as many cases as they can. But of course a lot of people don't really want this crap to stop so no one is going to agree with me. Some people want it to keep happening so they have an excuse to complain that people have too many rights.

Fixed it. Better?

I understand what's going on there. I live in the area. I called shop to make sure none of our guys were working in that area. Just tried to add a little of levity . My bad

Sure...not trying to censor, but I just found it obscenely inappropriate while they're still notifying victims' families.

I've got a wry my sense of humor. It normally takes a while for people to figure me out. I mean no harm . But I've have no problem correcting it if someone finds it truly offensive.

All somebody needs to do is speak up in most cases .

Maybe someone went insane trying to figure out what a fifth third is.

Maybe he told them their real name is one and two thirds and they asked the perp to leave.

Report that one victim shot 12 times.
I'm assuming this must be the shooter, shot by police.

Shooter had some history of mental illness...no police record.

Police: Shooter had 500 rounds of ammo.
Killed within 3 minutes.

Now, let’s see if he got the gun legally.

If someone is willing to murder others then what difference does it make what other laws he may or may not have broken? He was obviously willing to kill.

I’m watching the police chief right now...said about 200 round for the single 9mm pistol

Also, I’ve seen zero confirmation of a mental illness, just speculation. Have a source for that claim?

History of mental illness isn’t the same as being adjudicated mentally ill in a court of law.

But we’ll see. Legal purchase is irrelevant when it’s used illegally.

This probably is the most likely scenario imho.

That really makes no difference when we use mathematics, logic, and history. Or.. stats.

The television is telling me that the lone shooter has been taken into custody.

This is what they really need to focus on in these mass shootings. Taking them alive. If they know there's a high chance of being taken alive and sentenced to life in a #hole prison maybe they'll think twice.

Just as I thought. Neither one of these posts got a single star. And it's not that I want stars (I don't GAF about that). It's just that it shows most people are not really interested in a solution that doesn't go where they want it to go.

So let's let all mentally ill people get all the guns they want.

Define mentally ill, I went to a pysch doctor for a bit over the years for depression, should I lose me 2nd rights? Or should we remove it from people that were committed, what if it was voluntary to get help, its a complicated issue to tackle and just saying mentally ill shouldn't be able to buy a gun would remove a guaranteed right from 10's of millions of people at least.

===========================

One of the first stories I read about this said a guy was warned about the shooter as he was about to enter the building, but a lady in front of him had headphones on and didn't hear it and got shot.

People need to learn they should keep situational awareness at all times, no place is 100% safe 100% of the time.

So, let every mentally ill person have guns. That's what I thought.

Did I say that... no, I said its a difficult subject with so many things being listed as a mental problem every year how do you say which should be allowed and which shouldn't.

so I ask you again, define mental illness for me.

Depression due to radical changes in your life... is that enough.?

Or do you need a clinical diagnosis of Schizophrenia required to meet your requirement?

What about drugs, if you take a pill to treat a mental issue should you lose your rights?

we cannot actually have a discussion if you are not willing to define your position.

===

Me personally I am willing to discuss it if we do a study and identify the comon factors of mental illness between mass shooters.
But nobody wants to open that can of worms, cause there are a few oaths that medical people take that we would have to sort of gut to use that information to prevent someone from legally buying a gun.

Then you have the worry of unintended consequences from removing those protections from a persons medical history.

ETA: Were you aware that a simple ADHD diagnosis can disqaulify you from flying for a living, the FAA declares ADHD as a pyschological problem.

THAT is why I say you have to be very careful saying mental issues should remove your 2nd amedment right.

The shooter was involved in a lawsuit with 5/3 bank and was having delusions of being watched and hacked. He was a loner according to his neighbors and not very friendly. He had no criminal record here but has problems in South Carolina but the news has not specified what as of now.

Cincinnati was declared a sanctuary city by Mayor John Cranley recently...Maybe, this is why his background is being so closely held by the news media. I have heard on one channel that he is an illegal alien but now they are quiet with that story.

The news media has said there is no motive for the shooting and speculation is all pointing toward mental illness. Other speculation says that he shot one victim 12 times indicating a domestic problem. Sadly, the details are being closely held by CPD.
