Well, shoot, the house of cards is coming down. Sessions has taken a lot of heat from Cheetolini over the nearly two years and has been quiet about it. Why now? Why snap back at the President in the midst of this bad week?

“You know the only reason I gave him the job? Because I felt loyalty, he was an original supporter,” Trump said, criticizing Sessions because he, according to the president, “never took control of the Justice Department.”

Followed by this from Sessions today:

Sessions slapped back in a statement Thursday afternoon, saying he “took control of the Department of Justice the day I was sworn in, which is why we have had unprecedented success at effectuating the President’s agenda.”

He declared that while he’s attorney general “the actions” of the DOJ “will not be improperly influenced by political considerations. I demand the highest standards, and where they are not met, I take action.”

I don't like the agendas that Sessions has, the anti medical marijuana, anti States regulating themselves on such issues, immigration gung-ho policies and so on... but I am happy to see him finally standing up for himself.

The only question is why now? Emboldened by drama? Switching sides? Will he flip on Trump or is this just an outburst? I don't view Sessions as a man of morals so in my mind, anything is possible.

I would imagine he would want to keep his position in the Pence administration, when all this comes to an end.

APNews

It's a longer article and goes further into Cohen, the impeachment and other topics but it doesn't return to Sessions. I suggest reading the rest but I won't pull any more quotes so we can focus on the topic.

Isn't it an odd time to snap back at your boss? Every man has his limit?

Your OP mentions 'the impeachment'... what impeachment?
What are you talking about?

As for Sessions, he's a coward, but at least he has said something finally so we know he's still alive.

Just read the article please. We cannot add too many quotes, as they get edited by mods. Only enough to grab attention and get the discussion started. I also said I was not going to quote more as I wanted to stay on the Trump-Sessions topic.

Please just read the article.

Honestly as much as I would like to say this is showing that sessions is turning against Trump and is about the spill the beans I really don't think it does.

Looks to me like more political-speak and nothing more, of course sessions is going to say stuff like this.

Until we actually see him moving against Trump I think its too premature to argue that he is taking some stand against Trump.

These are just words, meaningless words. (As much as much as I hate sounding like part of team trump
)

So all of his supporters are somehow foolish? What a foolish statement.

Yeah, or Killary.

Trump is easy, one could write a book of nothing but funny nicknames for him. Obama was a bit tougher, what do you do with that name? Just add an R at the end and make yourself sound British?

Or O-bummer... which isn't even that catchy or witty.

Hard to flip when he has never been on Trump's team since day one....just saying...

I would imagine he would want to keep his position in the Pence administration, when all this comes to an end.

Impeachment over others cheating on their taxes?...lol OK, is this one of those things that if it is said over and over it becomes reality?

1984

“In the end the Party would announce that two and two made five, and you would have to believe it. It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it. Not merely the validity of experience, but the very existence of external reality, was tacitly denied by their philosophy. The heresy of heresies was common sense. And what was terrifying was not that they would kill you for thinking otherwise, but that they might be right. For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable—what then?”

The left blames Trump on the right when all they could come up with was an evil old hag and a weak ass socialist... Trump could be 10 times worst and still be better than those two...

Keep saying it.

Don't make it true.

Especially after what the other side has done, and continues to do.

Fake Dossiers,Fake polls, Rigged primaries,Foreign nationals electioneering at their conventions.

And the best they've come up with is bank fraud, and 'conman'.

As fake outrage goes.

Still weak sauce.

Nothing at all and the usual speculation we all know involving Dims.

The OP has an active Anti Trump stance, therefore subject to use of language not meaningful in anyway to the discussion other then optics to perpetuate an illusion of fear and panic.

The author of this AP article tries, unsuccessfully, to add in his little quips and corrections, but never elaborates or adds any reasoning as to why.

As for the actual topic, Sessions felt the need to lash out as a result of POTUS declaring Sessions inept, which is true in my opinion. His first offense was recusing himself, a glorious mistake. Sessions is done.
