Irish voters on Friday repealed the country’s eighth constitutional amendment, a decadeslong ban on abortion that had forced thousands of women to either illegally order abortion pills online or travel to the United Kingdom to access the procedure. A total of 1,429,981 voted for the repeal and 723,632 voted against, Returning Officer Barry Ryan said Saturday. A majority of 706,349 tipped the scales to repeal the amendment.

The people have said that we want a modern constitution for a modern country and we trust women and we respect them to make the right decisions and the right choices,” he added. “It gives the government the mandate that we need now to bring forward the legislation that we promised and have it through the door ... and enacted before the end of this year.”

correct. my wife and i are pro choice. having said that we would not choose the abortion route for us. we have talked about it.

i prefer that to people decide a president. any one. dont matter. some are for him and some are against. then that president can appoint supreme court justices who can serve for life.

Or possibly they weren't successful and they had a child they couldn't afford. Then they needed food stamps but that's entitlement so they don't get food stamps because you see a child is only valuable in utero when it can be used as a political weapon against the poor. After birth it's just another poor mouth to feed while complaining about having to feed them.

so IF there was never another abortion...who will take in all these children and care for them??? ones that are sick ones that lack the mental capabilities,,,will you take some in??

life IS NOT black and white......birth control does not work 100% females are raped , females are molested and are pregnantt at a really young age......people are poor.....just remember we are biologically hardwired to keep the species going and nature will find a way even on an unconscious level.

we will need more taxes and more programs for ALL THESE ChILDREN that would not be aborted if you had your way

so life at ANY COST according to you.....how many children will you and others like you take in and raise??????
