reading a chance remark - prompted the thought process .

just as a hypothetical - lets assume that you discovered [ or were shown ] credible proof that " a god " actually existed - it may [ or may not ] be the same god that is worshiped by your current cult . what would be your response [ and why ]

i will post my response later [ its pre-written - and i vow not to edit it based on replies ] - but i want to see what other people think of this - without the influence of reading my version

let the fun begin

PS - please read the premmise carefully - every word is carefully chosen

I have a feeling that a real God would not need to be worshiped. It would probably expect respect and love though.

Nope. Wouldn’t worship it. Why would I worship something that stands about watching kids die a long, painful death or get raped by adults?

As for what I’d say? “I want to go to the other place. He seems nicer.”

If its so human petty its demands to be worshiped then it isnt worthy of worship at all.

I would ask it one simple question .... Why ?

The real God does not need to be worshipped. God is almighty and powerful, He does not us to be singing and dancing all day long.
He does not need us, we need Him.

The so call YHVH , the "I am what I am", that is pure ego involved in that name (or phrase), this guy needs reassurance. The real God does not need reassurance.

If i were presented with compelling evidence that a god existed, i would/could become a believer, but, whether i would worship it or not, would depend upon it’s character. So far, none of the hypothesized gods i have heard of, deserve any respect, much less worship.

can you demonstrate any of that to be true?

Yes. It is quite simple.
If God created this universe and worlds all over, and He is all powerful, almighty, He really do not need us. He do not need us to be sacrificing animals to Him.

Now there is what we call the egregor, that is a being created for us humans when we focus our minds in one thing in particular. That energy "thing" once created, stay there it won't go, but need to be feeded. And sometimes it gets a mind of it own, and that is when start to ask for things to be done for him. It can be eliminated but it required a different method than just focus your mind.

I worship nothing. So no.

I might revere it if it showed traits that I felt worthy of reverence. And it could certainly frighten me to my knees.

But i'd not worship anything. My ego is to firmly rooted in place to acquiesce to another party like that.

I asked if you could demonstrate any of that to be true. And you say If God is real and If he created things. But nobody knows if god is real. You are just asserting things.

I’m asking you if you can demonstrate any of this to be true. I have never heard of a egregor. Can you show me one?

our god is our creator...
so, if man splices and dices, adds to and takes away from the current dna strains that our creator placed on this earth...
can we say that the result is our god's creation, or is ours? so, let's say that we managed to take that barren rock out in space that we call mars and terraform it into a livable planet and we create from the dna strains that exist both on this planet and maybe some that we might actually find on that barren planet... we create a new creature, unlike any that exists on this planet, and we transport a group of them to mars and release them in their new habitat. maybe we return for while afterwards to ensure that they are doing okay, maybe we have them doing something for us that we profit from. but eventually we lose interest in them and abandon them. and they thrive, they learn, they evolve into an intelligent being.
are they our god's creation, or are they ours? and should either our god or us have any valid justification to return one day thousands upon thousands of years later and demand anything of them?
if a corporation were to meddle with the human dna strands and produced the perfect warrior, or the most intelligent creatures on the planet, or whatever... should they have the right to own them, since they did create them?

I personally don't believe the one who created something from nothing.... GOD.... desires much of anything from his creation, he is in control of it and it naturally provides him with everything he wishes or needs from it. so if a god did come to demand worship or obedience, or servitude, my guess would be if they had any role they played in our being it would be more like them meddling with the seeds of life that were placed here by GOD. I would not recognize their right to demand from us because I would hope that when we do reach the stage where we are creating our own variants of intelligent life we wouldn't see them as our property to be exploited and used.

Rather than worship it, I think that a super powerful, omniscient, transtemporal entity would be something to hide away from -- or at least be so commonplace and ordinary that you would be unworthy of its attention. Because any entity like that would be insanely dangerous and your best bet would be to not get on its radar.

You know, if 'God' would have stuck around past the biblical era, and continued to wow and awe us with his visual and audible presence, things would be completely different....night and day.

Worship is now completely faith based no matter what you subscribe to.

As with anything theological, we are an experiment and always tested to see if we can maintain faith without solid evidence.

So hypothetically I receive said evidence; not shown, but for myself and others to verify and it is sustained. Would I 'worship this 'God'?
For what? I've prayed all my life, and I can honestly say that without me actually handling the problems or situations, (other than thanking him for the usual stuff) 99.9% of solution is on me.
I don't discount the coincidences, but that's all they really are.

Greek gods, maybe, which are much more anthropomorphic. Creator entity of the universe, though? Why would it need genitalia, unless there was a pair of them, at least?

I'd be a repulsive arrogant ass if I said no.

And I don't need proof for the obvious.

My response....Cool!

Worship it...No!

Did a "Bigger" God create that one and will punish Me later?

I don't worship god, I respect god. Seems like a pretty good entity to me. The teachings of Jesus are good, but of course man twisted the teachings to fit his needs. I believe in god but am not so much fond of religions.
