Why congress, the white house, the senate, foreign ambassadors to "whogivesanbum", receives better protection than our youth will always baffle me. Sorry you no name butt clown from butt state... You do not deserve more protection than our high school students.

Or you know parents could take responsibility and lock their #ing guns away so little Johnny can't go on a shooting binge if his girlfriend dumps him...

I agree, and do so in my home. However, don't you think it more intelligent a solution to address the problems at the root and not simply be pruning the leaves of the sick tree?

I do agree, however the problem is how to go about it. The guns are out there and nothing will change that , so until a solution is brought forward, the very least that should happen is parents secure their guns from their kids.

Yet, we still do NOT address bullying at all either. That is the root of the problem. But I guess it is easier to place the blame on the 300 million other firearm owners that do the right thing and not the people creating the situation.

Now tell me, how smart is THAT??

Well how does that get done? Bullying has been part of school life since its inception, that hasn't changed ,it seems how people deal with bullying is what has changed.

I guess you failed to read the previous posts??!!?

Let the kids fight it out between themselves like we used to before this social experiment to try to "stop the violence" began. All it did was to delay and make it worse. Bottle it all up, and it WILL explode.

So you think none of this would be happening if kids were left to just Duke it out without any interference.... Hmm I'm not buying it..

Of course you don't. It doesn't fit your anti-gun agenda. It doesn't involve banning a tool or stripping away someones rights in favor of the government gaining more control over its citizens. Face it, your idea of a solution has failed in these cases. Trying something out of your comfort zone and imagination is simply wrong to you. You cannot imagine putting power back into the hands of the individuals.....can't have that now can we?

If people were not dying, it would be laughable.

How has your solution worked out in London to prevent mass killings? It hasn't, because those intent to kill will use other more easily obtainable means, and in addition the innocents now cannot defend themselves either.

So your going to cling to stats where it showed London had as much violence as an American city for like the first time ever and claim some sort of justification...

Again I'm not anti gun I'm for more regulations, not as in laws as in parents being responsible for their kids and their guns.... Obviously that's far too much to expect.

Guess what, those "regulations" already exists. They are just not ENFORCED, to make it appear that there are none.

Next grand idea to restrict more citizens rights?

Because the underlying implementation of making them responsible is to have them restricted or allow the government even more inroads into their lives. There are existing laws in place to make parents responsible for the actions of their children to the age of 18 (when they become a legal adult and are not longer kids).

But these laws are typically not enforced by the judicial system, because, OMG, you cant punish a child, it would affect their self-esteem, blah...blah...blah.

So, in doing this, and allowing them to get away with lesser things, it makes a fertile environment to escalate their illegal activities.

How about, I know its a radical thought, ENFORCE the laws in the books already in this area.

If there was a punishment for a parent whos child was able to find, steal and use said weapon in a school shooting there would be no infringement on privacy or rights as it would be enforced after the fact.
