My point is, history is repeating itself and New York Times and other media should have learned their lessons. Sadly, they hadn't.

If they keep praising mass murderers, then eventually they will lose their credibility.

With the rise of the internet and widespread coverage of North Korea's mass murders, they should have done research before they praise Kim Jong Un, yet they choose to put their head in the sand.

So quickly you guys turn a Hitler thread into a Trump thread.

Only in your mind.

Well... no... like it literally happened right here in reality.

They did! Why do you think Trump is having such a hard time?

New York Times, giving fake news since 1930s.

Yet you ignore the fake news that comes from your President.

So quickly you guys turn a Hitler thread into a Trump thread. Are we still going on with that narrative? That Trump is literally Hitler? And Trump supporters are Nazis?

Kind of how you guys turn everything into a Hillary thread?
Perspective is nutty right?

Hitler was a good guy in 39 though by most accounts. (Image of his character, not trying to defend him) it wasn't until 39 when he defended the German people against polish aggression(total lies).(operation himmler)We know now that he wasn't the person he was portrayed as. But back then, how could we have known? If your stating that the media is not the end all be all of truth, then I agree. But if your labeling good and bad, the answer is not so simple. If you overthrow all governments that have killed there would be no government.

There is a fear that down the line in the next few decades we will see an authoritarian leader in the US. We are seeing the foundations for an authoritarian culture like suppression of free speech by violence because "muh feelings".

All it takes is for someone to convince the masses by saying that he/she will provide a better solution for the current mess and that authoritarian rule is the only way to make country go better.

It will take time though but we will be there eventually.

As the saying goes, "death by a thousand paper cuts".

That's a great point and I blame both sides of the aisles for your prediction.

My point is the media should have at least do more research before they say anything about someone.

For example, they should have at least read Mein Kampf in the early 1930s to see the kind of man he is. In Mein Kampf, he stated he wanted to take over Eastern Europe and exterminate the Jews. Also, they should have paid attention with the Nuremberg Laws which came out in 1935 which gives Jews second class citizenship.

And now history is repeating itself when the media praises North Korea despite widespread documentation of its crimes against humanity.

If Hitler were still alive today and hating Trump, the New York Times would still be praising Hitler.

I agree, I think more transparency in journalism is needed. After the propaganda arm in Germany was established, it was kinda hard to sort facts just like #fake news in America today. (Half of our information is propaganda, and this statement is true weather your on the right or left side of the isle) Also thanks for the rational dialogue, hard to find it in today's climate.

So is that why the same NYT published such glowing stories of the USSR that its reporter won a Pulitzer despite the fact that they completely whitewashed the famine in the Ukraine caused deliberately that killed so many?

Walter Duranty

In 1932 Duranty received a Pulitzer Prize for a series of reports about the Soviet Union, 11 of them published in June 1931. He was criticized for his subsequent denial of widespread famine (1932–1933) in the USSR,[1] most particularly the mass starvation in Ukraine. Years later, there were calls to revoke his Pulitzer; The New York Times, which submitted his works for the prize in 1932, wrote that his later articles denying the famine constituted "some of the worst reporting to appear in this newspaper."[2]

Even years later, the NYT denied that his work was all that bad.

Doesn't sound to me like they were all that worried about Communism.

I think you mistake who and what journalists are.

They don't understand or care to understand the things they report on.

Well it was a different world before WWII, antisemitism just wasn't as big of a deal back then.

Watch for Kim becoming undemonized if the peace-process continues to succeed. This could be a huge success for Trump, but obviously that means he needs to be friendly with Kim, and so his media needs to support that narrative. It may actually be for the best to play nice with him now, if it can get him to make real concessions. But that's a big if. Then liberal media has to choose between obstructing the peace process and calling Trump out, potentially.

Don't let the headline fool you. This is a North Korea thread masked as a Hitler thread. Back to NK: CIA puppet state (probably) and (possibly) now changing!

NK was never a CIA puppet state, and this thread is about something totally different

OP was tough for America taking sides, there were a lot of Germans living there and England still had an empire before ww2 financially crippled us

You mentioned nothing of the sort in your OP. You mentioned his sister without showing a link to her complicity in his madness. Nothing I have read about "little fatty" mentions his sister or other relatives as being complicit in his madness. More like they are afraid for their lives, after seeing what he has done (and is accused of doing) to his close family and extended family.

If you are certain that his sister is complicit in his violent madness, please show some sort of link or substantiate your claim thusly.

Uhhh she's just as guilty as her brother, for example she took over the country briefly when her brother had a medical issue and is a high ranking member of the North Korean government.

In October 2014, Kim Yo Jong had reportedly taken over state duties for her ailing brother while he underwent medical treatment. In November 2014, she was named vice director of the ruling party's Propaganda and Agitation Department.

www.dw.com...

In North Korea this kid sister has served under Big Brother as a deputy director of the powerful and omnipresent Propaganda and Agitation Department. She has apparently racked up a record so stellar that last year the U.S. Treasury blacklisted her as a top North Korean official tied to “notorious abuses of human rights.” Mr. Kim gave her an alternate seat on his politburo.

I have seen no fake news from their president, mine and yours too if you live in the USA. But I do see it from the leftist D's and RINO's. Leaving me to think that the progressives are pure communist who hate all things free except themselves. They are calling Truth from Trump fake and lies from the Media and DNC the Truth. Real freedom is being taken away for a small oligarchy to have more power and now Trump is the pendulum swinging back toward anarchy and away from the gulch of communism.

The real deal will be can the momentum that is now heading the pendulum toward anarchy be tempered around middle ground or will the need to rectify the wrongs of the progressives create a 'purge' that goes beyond the real criminals? Just as some around me still think Sen McCarthy was doing in the 50's. I am leaning toward McCarthy was ahead of his time and very correct. The progs/Industrial Military Complex already had control of the MSM by the time Ike warned us. Many of our military are seeing things they can't ever repeat but to top brass or suffer Ft Leavenworth KS. Unless your initials are HRC that is.
