You're not allowed to get sick.

I won't allow it.

Unacceptable.

Now about those sandwiches. . . . .

Awwww, hello buddy! Sammiches? You're making them right?

Here goes my ATS post number 1000.

Using it to thank you all for all the support you have given me never asking anything in return. Light chats, humor. Makes everything a whole lot easier. If empathy, goodwill and sense of humor would reflect in actual physical size, you would all be giants.

Naw, I got some daddy long-legs on standby to help out if need be. Wondering where all my huntsmen have gotten to to help!

Are you feeling much better Night?

I've been ill myself these last few days, but that was because of withdrawal from meds, all sorted now. However I'm thinking I might start having more soup to help with weight loss (and it's autumn here). I have that orthopaedic surgeon appointment on Friday and hoping he will say I can have surgery at some point. No doubt I will need to lose weight off the tums. Amongst all of my health problems, to make things better I need to lose weight to alleviate symptoms. Kind of hard when I have arthritis in several foot joints and joints in my body burrrrrrn from time to time. No RA though :S

anyway I am dribbling lol

I need to lose weight too Hun and without exercise it's brutal. That and...I like good food. Good food as in what tastes good... like chocolate. LOL

I am feeling better but still not quite there yet. Eventually I'll have to have my hip/leg checked out. I'm going to be 60 in 8 days and I seem to be falling apart at the seems. Chronic pain sucks and weighs on me and my moods. Surgery of any kind freaks me out so I hope I don't need that for anything any time soon.

I love soup but the sodium is so darned high. I was thinking of making some anyway this week.

Can't remember if it was you or not, did you have avascular necrosis in your hip? I have it on my second metarsal on my foot, untreated for 20 years - which in turn buggered up the other joints, my gait, my posture etc. The podiatry stuff and physio is no use now. I would really rather an amputation to be honest. The bright side (apart from much lessened pain) is I can play so many pranks on people

I wonder, is the sodium content in soup so high because of added salt or because of the natural sodium in the ingredients? Ie home made soup I mean.

I usually don't use stock cubes/bullion when I make home made soup, I just boil the leftover carcass of a roast/bbq chook and strain it.

I have no idea what's going on with my leg/hip joint. I have spinal stenosis, arthritis and nerve damage.

if I'm making chicken soup, I like to use the Lipton recipe soup mix and just add chicken and pasta and what-not, so yeah there is a ton of sodium in that. I like making a soup also with ground hamburger, chopped and stewed tomatoes, mixed veggies and tri colored pasta. I like a nice hearty soup, filling and yummy.

My daughter's cat, Chai, with her kitties. This was taken early in January. Most of them have new homes by now.

1. Happiness - How you can increase quality of life and feel better by Markku Ojanen

2. Anger (and wisdom to control it) by Thich Nhat Hanh

3. The urban monk: Eastern wisdom and modern hacks to stop time and find success, happiness and peace by Pedram Shojai

Some dark roasted coffee now, then i will begin to download this stuff into my brains.

That is what I love about the Shed, it's the only place on ATS where members can share their cat pictures.

You'll have to let us know what you think of those books when you are done. I remember reading some of Thick Nhat Hanh's stuff many years ago. Trouble is...I don't remember what I read.
