One day a week I'm sleep deprived due to work, I have to wake up very early one day a week. That day I notice I have random good feelings, tired but I feel mentally very satisfied all day and abnormally optimistic.

I do not suffer from depression or anxiety normally anyway but days with less sleep result in a happier attitude than normal.

I started thinking that sleep levels and depression may be linked, when I got home I googled it.

Study after study confirm what I just told you! If you suffer from depression then you should sleep less every day.
You may actually be depressed because you're sleeping too much.

Go a few days on 5 hours of sleep and report back on changes.

I know there is some communication between the bacteria in the stomach, signaling chemicals like ghrelin and your body posture. The receptors for chemical reception are at the bottom of your stomach so they get switched off when you lie down to sleep.

I kind of agree. I do better when I get up at the same time everyday and make myself do stuff.

But, I'll tell you what causes me more depression then anything else: Fast Food

I don't know what they put in that stuff - - - but, I do know I become lethargic with low grade depression whenever I eat it.

So, I don't any more.

It's probably all the saturated fat. That clogs up our capillaries, arteries and lymphatic systems. I have to avoid cheese, red meat, dairy products in order for that reason, as well as to get my calcium levels down. I was prescribed chelation tablets but those pull all the metallic atoms out of my body (calcium, magnesium, iron, everything...). That was an emotion amplifier.
