Ted Olson Quickly Rejected Offer To Join Trump Legal Team

Two big shot lawyers rejected the request of the Trump defense team to defend him.

One of the top lawyers in the country the mouthpiece who won the famous Gore versus Bush election case, Ted Olsen--quickly rejected the offer.

Olson said Monday in a television appearance on MSNBC that the White House appeared to be in regular “turmoil” and “chaos” with a new departure and White House shake-up every other day. “This seems to be beyond normal,” Olson said.

Another top Republican mouthpiece from the Midwest also rejected the offer to defend the president.

A prominent Chicago defense attorney said Monday that he had declined an invitation to lead President Donald Trump’s legal team responding to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, underscoring the president’s difficulty in attracting top legal talent to represent him in the probe. Dan Webb, a Republican, is a former U.S. attorney for Illinois and a corporate and white-collar-defense lawyer for the firm Winston and Strawn.

These are big shot lawyers; they call them white shoe lawyers, the term that tells you they make the most money.

Here, obviously, Trump’s own antics make it hard for top lawyers to defend him. They can besmirch their reputations with a client like Trump.

Well, I reckon brown or black shoe lawyers will fill any voids admirably and competently...

Seems to be an ongoing matter with the Whitehouse. This and their other vacancies.

It was only last week Trumps leader lawyer John Dowd resigned. Trump has also held back on bringing on 2 lawyers that were announced and appointed days ago. Reports of Trumps team being held in limbo are abound. This isn't normal.



The tactic for Trump and his supporters - make it last. Deny deny and deny for as long as possible.

You know the funny thing as well? There are law firms abound out there that would have no qualms representing Satan himself for the right price.. The major gripe for many of these Lawyers, Trump can't be tolerated. Doesn't take advice, goes in guns blazing. So in part there's no 'fear' in representing Trump against Mueller. Trump is doing this to himself.

To be fair Webb said it would be an honor but conflict of interest and scheduling prevented them from taking on trump. I think he is representing Mark Corallo the Whitehouse aid who quit after he thought Hope Hicks obstructed justice in the trump tower meeting fiasco.

It used to infer no Jews were hired. The term has evolved somewhat but still means WASP elite for the most part.

It's true. There have been several who have turned him down. ( The best people)
Lawyers want cases they think they can win. There's always a paycheck waiting out there it's not a case of any amount of money will hire a lawyer. They have an organization they answer to which licences their trade. They lose their license if they have their client purjure themselves. They don't just take any case simply because the clients can pay.
