Could TPTB be Using Reverse Psychology to Arm Americans for an Upcoming Event

So this thought crossed my mind a couple of times in recent years. Could the powers that be, be using reverse psychology to increase the number of armed Americans in preparation for a future event, weather it be worldwide economic upheaval or foreign(possibly alien) invasion?

We all know that governments put a lot of research into mass psychology. After each of these mass shootings the number of gun purchases goes up, not down. There were even reports of members of the gay community arming themselves in response to the Orlando night club shooting.

For the sake of argument, let’s say that somehow these people are being provoked, encouraged, manipulated, or simply allowed to carry out these attacks. If TPTB wanted less guns and more gun control, they wouldn’t be going about it like this because they would have predicted the increase in gun sales after each event.

Is it possible that a they want the population more armed in preparation for a future event so that we can better protect ourselves and increase the chance of the nation as a whole surviving the event?

I doubt it, they want our guns. Not most people in our government though, a group led by some far left liberals want control to push their agenda. They are backed by some European group.

Maybe, but for my part, I think its far more likely they are trying to get people prepared for an effort to repeal the 2nd Amendment. Whether they can successfully do that or not, I don't really know.

In the alternative, they seem more to me to be ratcheting up the impressionable youth to make demands for more restrictions, either regulatory or by passing of laws that will curtail 2nd Amendment rights at the local level. There's far more likelihood of success at the local level.

Based on the general direction of freedom in the USA, I'm going with no.

More guns are sold after each shooting for various reasons, but I think you'll find that while the number guns out there is going up, the percent of the population who owns them is going down.

Public schools in major cities are indoctrination centers, teaching people what to think and not how to think. A few generations back, everyone had firearms in this country- now we're coming in at around a third. Well, a third that report it to the census. I'd wager we're probably closer to about half.

The government wanting us to be prepared and more protected? No, not at all. Though I do think they are using reverse psychology on us in some respects, namely for making us fight each other over insignificant social issues constantly. Maybe that will reach a boiling point where we start using these guns on each other more frequently? I have no idea but every big "issue" being discussed in the media is definitely being used to engineer us socially, whether you trust the media or not you are more than likely being manipulated by them if you pay attention to what they say.

The more the media berates Trump, the more people will continue to support him. The more Trump berates those who are against him the more people will continue to defy him. They know this and they are using it to their advantage. The left/right paradigm is being used to radicalize Americans on both sides of the fence, that much is clear in my opinion. Reverse psychology being employed by both teams who claim to hate each other when in reality they are working together towards a common goal.

We already have more guns than people.
Gotta keep sales up.
Just one of many ideas.
Remember when they stopped making Twinkies and the price of Twinkies soared?
Then they started making them again.
Make'em think they are going to confiscate everybody's guns and they start selling like hot-cakes.
I am pro 2nd, but I am also not a sucker. Have all the guns I need.
No one is going to invade the US by force.
Go enjoy the weather.

reminds me of:

"Isoroku Yamamoto's sleeping giant quote". You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.

But, Im thinking its the leftists of late that read that quote and realize it wont be so easy to sell us to the EU/UN

I've always had the theory that TPTB want the American people to be armed, so they can use it as an excuse to keep you guys repressed... With the largest incarcerated population in the whole world and the most aggressive policing practices in the first world... its not actually a far fetch theory.

Albeit, a rather unpopular theory, around here...

i think TPTB want an armed conflict...and trying to repeal the 2nd amendment might be the trigger.... tho i suspect it would go the same way the first one went... repubs winning

Remember when TPTB labeled homosexuals as mentally ill? Do you think that label might have been directly aimed at keeping a group they didn't feel comfortable with away from arms (like blacks in the '60s)?

In a hyper-Capitalist society such as ours you gave the answer plain and simple...gun sales go up.

What more do you need other than profit or gain? Honestly makes me wonder who is behind it you just follow the money...

If I were the Devil (which everyone knows just can't exist right?) and I was looking to bring my long-foretold One World Mark of the Beast Order to fruition, I would have it to where the whole world was a powder keg and I had the bets hedged whichever way it goes. None of the possibilities look painless.

My small sphere in this historical cluster-f is my family, friends, and some community interest. I'll assert my 2nd if for nothing more in protection of that and do my best otherwise but storm clouds are brewing every which way I look these days.

No I think they are using demogogery to motivate their voters..

They fabricate a fictional universe where everyone is after their guns. Then cast themselves as the only thing standing in the way.

It is propaganda 101.. gun sales are just a symptom of that..

Oh yeah really sick.

Smith and Wesson and Ruger.

The ONLY gun makers left that are publically traded.

They are scared of something and need us to protect them?

Unfortunately as Americans, that's what we'd end up doing.

The argument falls apart when you look at the L + R propaganda paradigm that is doled out. Combined with identity politics it undermines the whole psychological aspects that would strengthen the resolve.

Unless it's something akin to a civil war.

Nope.
According to the commercial I just watched...
Smoking kill more than guns, cars, and everything else.

So I agree with the others. They are losing all their money in cigarette stocks... so they are increasing guns sales to make money.

But as I believe SA said. I'm not going to buy anymore guns. I have enough to defend my person and home. and not from verbal assults from idiots. Only physical threats.

I really don't see 38 states voting "Yea" on abolishing citizen gun rights, that is what it would eventually take after a 2/3 vote by both legislative bodies to even get to that point.

As we have all seen with drug laws, by making them illegal does not curtail the usage or prevalence. Guns wont disappear if they are illegal, and they will still be manufactured and shipped into the country. There are already over 300 million guns in the US owned by citizens, getting rid of 5 million of them by people willing to hand them over is not going to do anything in the end. Also, having citizens armed is one of the largest deterrents from a land invasion of any kind, no country would even dare to step foot in the US knowing full well that the citizens are armed, any single person is a threat to their invasion.
