Yep, you read that right. The super bowl being played tonight might set a record for the lowest temperature ever at kickoff.
"MINNEAPOLIS — Sunday’s Super Bowl is expected to be the coldest on record with temperatures in the low single digits around the 5:30 p.m. CT
kickoff. Factor in the winds of around 10 mph, and it will feel like it’s well below zero."
I found several news articles on the subject including the above clip from USA today that was linked from drudge report.
Now I know this sounds like a perfectly fitting story as weather does effect on field performance of the teams.
Cold makes it harder to throw and catch.
But, and this is a big but.....
The game is being played inside a fricken domed stadium!
Lemme say that again, inside a domed stadium!
