Does anyone else watch this show?

Admittedly i am completely addicted to it!

I was a welder once upon a time, and considered being a farrier when i had my horse farm. I think turning a hunk of metal into a work of art is just an amazing thing to do... And i think i would love to try actually doing it

perhaps one day i just might... but in the mean time this show hits the right spot!

Anyone else a fan of this show?

I frickin love it!!

I've watched a few episodes.
Some of those guys should had lived in the Middle Ages as a black smith.
However, I'm More into that other show "The curse of Oak Island"

I love the testing phase where the one guy always says, "This. . . . . will kill!"

I watched a few episodes a few weeks ago. It is a good show. A good way to learn how to forge also.

Love that show. Hate that I've seen them all. You should check out The Green Beetle on YouTube.

I love both shows mentioned above...

My land lord has a forge, and has agreed to help me learn this summer...will share a pick of my first knife when completed...

And it....will kill!

got the inside scoop on them and while i like the premise of the show i just cant support them for how they treat the talent. the talent is only allowed to have their full name show up once, after that its just a first name and there is a limit on how many times that will be shown on screen aswell. they cannot promote their work outside the show. they get paid practically nothing to the point where it doesnt even cover airfare on top of it aswell. if they did a lil more promotion on the talent and didnt want everything for themselves id support them. i just feel bad for those guys who are out of pocket making the company tons of cash and they can barely even promote themselves and without the talent the show doesnt exist.

The show is great, but they've had some issues due to non-practised people burning down shops and houses trying to get on the show.

Now they're only accepting apprentice and master worker.types who have a rough idea what's nessecary to do this type of work.

But yes, I do enjoy it. Made a.few knives myself.

My bf and I watch this show religiously. We aren't into knives... or violence, or war, or battle reenactment, or the competition.
We just love the weird, weird, awkward people who show up... and Doug.

This is because they're literally finding nothing, but they have to see it to an end because viewership is really big.

My parents live within eyeshot of the Island (teensy weensy community) and for the first time ever, there was an actual rumor last fall that they found something huge. Who knows what that means, but the show will milk it, surely.

My cousin was on the episode where they made the Templar swords. He owns Odin Forge also works for Mayo Clinic. It was pretty cool seeing him there. We drank many beers together growing up, too many. We both got clean one year apart. Pretty proud of him. Smart guy.

Yup, it's one of my favorites.

I have a BFA degree, and part of my requirements was to take Sculpture I, and I fell in love with it enough to take Sculpture II, where we dove into forging and metal work.

It was one of my favorite classes, for sure, and like you, I love seeing "raw" metal turned into something functional and beautiful...plus, it's a bonus if "it will keeeel."

But, yes, I'm a big fan, to the point where I think that my wife despises the show because I will leave it on every time I see it showing on History.

Nice knife...what is the blade length on that? It looks relatively large for a folder, but small for a kukri (at least to be used like a kukri can/should be used).

I assume that the quality is excellent?

These are what the cousin has been working on the last few weeks. The one in the middle may have been on the show. First time he said that they let the runner up keep what they made.

It's great show, i've seen three seasons at least and they got so many things right with it. Making knives is obviously a winner and super porny but they picked some good personalities too and keep it very fun and highly quotable. It's top telly and i dont watch much.
