I haven't had a fb account since a short stint in 2011.
Social media is a waist of time and can be a mental scourge depending on how the individual uses it.

I can see that it could have very positive possible applications, but in the hands of average humans it will most likely be more abused than used for good.

Maybe he gave out his email address and passwords to customers so they could contact him via email without exposing who they were?

Nowhere in the court documents does it state it is his email. You keep disregarding the fact that the documents say "TARGET 1 SENT an email to the other email" Target 1 = Stephen Paddock so let me translate that for you.

Stephen Paddock SENT an email that said “try an ar before u buy we have huge selection located in the las vegas area.”

It doesn't say Target 1 sent an email to Target 1a. or to himself either. No where does it say he was communicating to himself.

Yes it was linked to him because he was communicating to that email...that's the link. Not that it is his email as well.

There is definitely a delete option. It's really not that hard to find. I found the option by searching google. "Delete facebook account" lol

The documents said Paddock had received an email from a Gmail account in July encouraging him to try an AR-style rifle before buying one. It said, "we have huge selection" in the Las Vegas area.

No it didn't, the documents say the exact opposite that Paddock SENT the email to the gmail account not the other way around.

Something fishy is going on, or really really bad comprehension by the writer.

Your reading it wrong both accounts were created by him what it looks like is investigators think the second account was used by his girlfriend. But they are unable to make the direct connection.

I am reading the official court documents. I am not reading it wrong.

It is you that is reading it wrong and the NY Times. No where in the official court documents does it isay that the gmail account sent paddock an email that said they have a huge selection in las vegas. It clearly says in the court documents. TARGET 1 SENT AN EMAIL to the gmail account sayin we have a huge selection in vegas. NY Times said that the gmail account sent it to paddock. Read it again sir. Live.com to gmail not gmail to live.com. Seriously. Pay attention. And you are saying they believe the other email is the gf's? but unable to make a connection? umm what? where does it say that? or are you just making things up and speculating?

There are 3 emails in that doc. 1 is paddock 2 is mary lou 3, the gmail account, they didn't say who it was.

The affidavit later adds that “investigators have been unable to figure out why Stephen Paddock would be exchanging messages related to weapons that were used in the attack between two of his email accounts,” and that it was possible that someone else was controlling one of the accounts. If that was the case, the investigator said, the F.B.I. needed to identify that person. Receiving a search warrant for that account “will lead investigators to determine the full scope of Stephen Paddock’s plan,” an F.B.I agent wrote to the judge.

Again they suspect the account belonged to his girlfriend as it was registered to him.

It makes perfect sense paddock was an arms dealer, still doesn't explain why he shot all those people assuming it was him pulling the trigger.

It makes perfect sense if you assume that other people did the shooting, and Paddock thought he was just there to sell some guns.

Remember, the king of Saudi Arabia was in Vegas that very day, and it is widely suspected (tho not confirmed last I checked) that he was the arabic guy who was photographed being escorted out of a casino under very heavy security after the shooting stopped.

The most likely scenario is that the killers were trying to assassinate the king of SA, and the mass shooting was either intended as a distraction, or the shooters were jihadis who decided that shooting up a crowd of Americans was just too tempting to pass up. (Note how that big purge happened shortly after this, with Prince Alwaleed reportedly being hung upside down by torturers, and recently he's been transferred to the toughest prison in Saudi Arabia. I think we can make a very good guess who was behind the plot to off the king.)

There are reports of helicopters flying around with their transponders turned off. Some have speculated that they were doing the shooting, but the more likely scenario is they were assigned to the Secret Service, and were keeping watch over the area because a foreign head of state was present.

Perhaps his girlfriend was the one with the connections, and she forwarded the ad on to the potential customers.

Regardless of who controlled the gmail account, this clearly shows that Paddock was a black-market gun dealer, which is what I've been suspecting for a while now.

I think he was requesting supplies, via an email account, that was read by his supplier. So when he says, Try an AR before you buy. What he's doing is saying "Please supply me with an AR." Same with the bump stock. 2 weeks later, both arrive and the shooting begins.

OK some one please tell me the significance of him sending emails to himself? Doesn't seem to be anything other then he was having fun pretending to send text. Perhaps this was a test to see if his email was being watched? It does further show just how unstable he was however.

One way for people to avoid their plans being exposed but still using email to communicate is through not sending email.

Hear me out. Someone can set up an email account and then give that account log in and password to they people they want to communicate with. They can write and save drafts in the email and never send it. The other person can log in read the draft, delete it and respond with another draft or just one sided responses.

Mike Adams did a video shortly after the shooting using audio forensics to analyze the recorded gunfire. He said there were multiple shooters I think from about 200-300 meters. If you look on googlemaps or some other map you can see the fuel towers at the end of the airport runway are almost that distance exactly.

That would be a perfect place to set up a tripod, flat elevated slightly, perfect. If they had checked the bleachers on the airport side of the venue I bet they would have found bullet holes.
