Conservatism = to conserve the tradions on the past rather than attempt societal change..

They wanted to conserve slavery..

In every war in history the soldiers fight for countless various different reasons..

But in every war in history the reason the war started comes down to the motivations of a handful of politicians..

And concerning the civil war they were ALL perfectly happy to repeatedly state it was to protect slavery AND to maintain the supremacy of the white race.

To be fair the north was just as white supremacist..

It was the scuentificly agreed upon fact that the white race was superior and meant to rule... which absolutely includes Lincoln.

We reached out to and I still go to church once a month at an all black church that likes my voice. They accept me and I am learning how to move like i was born black while i sing LOL...

Being a scientist who has served in the Army, and I am a Christian who can sing at a professional level makes me realize I am def not a normal person....

That's not entirely true...You are only not allowed to donate for 6 months to a year upon returning from Haiti. I went once to help several physician friend with doctors without boarders. We all couldn't donate for at a min of 6 months. The doctors were given a year due to their direct contact with blood of Haitians.

Dangerous to only wait 6 mo's but I would say a year should be for everyone just in case. Slow moving things can take a while to be triggered...

I've this theory that some of the best food comes from some of the poorest places. That 'rich living' isnt based entirely on fancy surroundings, and that a compensation is likely to occur at the foundation of our existence: FOOD.

I've not donated any time recently (been a few years)....but the last time they asked about Haiti (and a few other places) specifically.

Im taking that to mean that its entirely likely that Haiti is a #hole. If it isn't, then perhaps you can point to the amenities that the typical westerner would be accustomed to while travelling. Maybe detail some of the shopping, or local flair, that a tourist could take in.

There isn't any. Because it is a #hole.

That isn't a judgement on the people. Its an assessment of the state of the island relative to what a westerner would expect.
