Now here's a question for all you Freemasons or folk that know something about this craft. Where was Freemasonary founded, what are the origins of this craft Before answering please bear in mind that the Baal Bridge Square dates from 1507!
Does it originate from something scribbled on the back of a beermat in a pub in Ireland, based on much older belief that predates Nimrod or something else?
Serious question!

Well, no one knows the origins of Freemasonry.

There are various documents and artifacts that are used to search for the origins, but there is nothing concrete. Yes, there is the Baal's Bridge Square, but there is also the Regius Poem (aka Halliwell Manuscript).

Wasn't the first man to cut down a living tree, wasn't he the first mason?

The origins are rather unknown. But for those inside and if they can really understand the rites and teachings, they may know that this craft is way ancient.
The foundation is just an intent to keep and pass on ancient teachings, same goes for Rosicrucian and other initiation based entities.

I don't think they can tell you that (if they know) without being white balled.

"Modern" physics is full of examples where only a "theoretic model" dreamed up in someones head is postulated as an explanation for objective observation. What would the implications be if the entire human race is genetically regressing to a less analytical species?

about the 14th Centuty.

It was a gradual metamorphasis from Operative masonry to Freemasonry.
Initially all masons were actual Stonemasons in guilds (the unions of their times) most professions had guilds (tailors, bakers bankers etc). For some reason the Stone masons were the ones that appealed more to none trade professionals.

Slowly stone mason guilds started allowing non-tradesmen to join, this exclusivity appealed to a few nobles and thats generally where the myth of "elitists" members came from. But the actual concept of "elitists" goes against the very teachings of freemasons.

Eventually, they changed the name to Free-masons.

thats about it.

The baals bridge square etc. probably had nothing to do with Freemasonry, but with the early stone guilds.

It's like that scene in the movie X-men: Apocalypse in Moira's office when Havok says Apocalypse got the idea of the Four Horseman from the bible and Moira replies "the bible got it from him" inferring that apocalypse was older than the bible.

you mean blackballed.
which is actually wrong.

What you actually mean is "brought up on Masonic Charges"

The white and black balls are only used to vote to initiate a new member. (white ball means he can join, black means he cannot. Two or more black balls stops a candidate from joining, but he can re-apply 6months later)

Is a cycle, it already happened before. Through out history you can see a pattern in growing civilizations and then all of a sudden dark ages.
