“Some armed protesters tried to take control of some police stations and military bases but they met strong resistance from security forces,” state TV said. It gave no details of what happened and there was no independent confirmation.

State television also said 10 people were killed in several cities on Sunday night and showed footage of damage to property. It did not elaborate.

By their own admission police and military bases were attacked, 10 more killed, tens of thousands by their number so multiply that by 10 for real numbers at least. They cut social media and cell access in the crackdown to hide their brutal responses.

This isn't your average everyday youth throwing a rock in the street protest.

It's like SYRIAN de ja vu!

Wonder how many troops is Trump poised to dispatch over Iran to aid the anti-government protests?

I just can’t see where this is going to lead, it’s amazing to see the courage of these people young and old fighting for their futures and freedom. My concern is there is no organised leadership- so where will it lead.

There are so many players potentially involved in the region it’s impossible to know what to believe - aside from there will be brutal repercussions.

More info - death toll increasing now reported at 17

Ya, if only Assad was allowed to slaughter every last protester then round up all their family members and friends for torture and death in those first days, you would have loved the outcome.
