Ever have a song pop into your head and you just can't place it? I've had one for years. I saw a magazine in the supermarket Sat and YT'd the theme song and IT'S THE ONE.

I don't think it's ever been in syndication. I probably picked up that song while crawling on the floor in diapers. It's really quite a relief.

Its has been in syndication on TV-Land and various other cable stationa. A classic show with traditional comedy that still holds up today. Mary Tyler Moore was great as was Dick VanDyke

For the most part these days, it's ridiculous kid songs that pop into my head and remain there for too long.

I don't voluntarily listen to kid songs, but my son does!

Yep I know that song..

When I first heard it was also the first time I heard the name dick.. I was like mom they can't put that on tv!

Gawd dick van dyke sounds like a porn film made sometime before the 2000s

As a younger guy, I worked construction in Masonry. And in the morning I would pop up with a tune and the whole crew would be pi_ _ ed because they couldn't shake the tune. One that always worked... "Yellow Submarine". Another one, The Momas and the Papas, "I saw her again last night" they always got them. It drives you nuts not being able to loose a song..... lol

I once had this one stuck in my head for a few days.

Being a musician, I'very found the best way to deal with ear-worm is to go home and figure out how to play the darn thing.

I always sing the Mama and the Papas, Monday Monday song, on Monday. And yes some people toss me a swear word once in awhile.

Your post reminds me of the Married with Children episode "Oldies but Young 'uns," when AL remembers a melody from a song from w hen he was young that he can neither recall nor name, and seeks to find out what it is.

My own was a song I heard on an episode of 21 Jump Street, which luckily only took me about a year or two to find, and which was U2's "With or Without You."

Just don’t ever watch the episode with the flying saucer at Christmas.

“Unnie ups” will bury itself in you mind for decades!

Ooooh, Rob!

I had one particular tune stuck in my head for years, and being classical in nature, there was zero chance of finding it. Drove me insane.. then one night, on a international movie (subtitled) there it was, that slow cadence, growing.. I waited till the end, but in all the names listed, I would never find it.. but I had a list.

Turns out it was this miscreant. He put that amazing tune in my sconce, and let it fester within for years. Finding it was ohhh relief. lol. funny how we torture ourselves over little nothing...

I've had this song glued to my brain for the past few days:

Even the sound of Burl Ives voice is exactly the same in my head... lol.

I'm assuming it's because I've been baking up a storm in the kitchen making all my christmas goodies, setting up the tree, decorating the house, etc etc ?

Tis the season, I guess.

And you know, that song only sounds “right” when it’s Burl Ives singing it.

And only Eartha Kitt can do justice to “Santa Baby”,
In my book.

The 7th is featured prominently in the movie “Zardoz”, and more recently, in “The King’s Speech”.

When played played by a full orchestra, that piece never fails to make me weep, for reasons I don’t fully understand.
