In addition to stepping down from his position on the House Judiciary Committee, John Conyers has been hospitalized for what he describes as "stress from media assault" stemming from the revelations of his sexual harassment settlements and further accusations. Meanwhile, Rep. Nancy Pelosi has joined mounting calls for Conyers to resign.

Conyers was a prominent voice in the Russia conspiracy theory hysteria, which no evidence has presented to support his (and other Dems) claims. He also engaged in attacks against AG Sessions. Personally glad to see this one down.

"Congressman Conyers should resign," Pelosi told reporters on Thursday.

"The allegations against Congressman Conyers as we've heard more and more since Sunday are serious, disappointing and very credible," she added. "It's very sad. A brave woman came forward...Congressman conyers should resign...Zero tolerance means consequences for everyone, no matter how great a legacy is no license to harass or discriminate. "

Earlier Thursday, Conyers' political consultant said the lawmaker had been hospitalized in Detroit.

Sam Riddle, the consultant, told WDIV-TV that Conyers, 88, was hospitalized due to stress and he blamed the "media assault" stemming from the allegations against the lawmaker.

www.msn.com...

With Conyers out of the way, more accused Democrats (with evidence, of course) will be falling like dominos, ensuring our agenda (especially tax reform) hits no snags on its way to POTUSs desk.

Conyers is joined by several prominent Democrats, including Al Franken, that have been ruined by sexual harassment allegations that started out as political hit jobs on Republican candidates. Once again, Democrats have opened a can of worms in effort satisfy their insatiable hate for Republicans. Look no further than the content of their anti-GWB43 messages during his term, they said basically engaged in the same hyperbolic fear mongering they do now.

On to Franken I guess....

What goes around comes around. I hope these Democrats and News agencies learn from recent events. Twisting evidence to fit your agenda is not the right thing to do. I expect a lot more uncovering of improper behavior in media in the next few months.

If you have an leaky boat you shouldn't make waves. I wonder how old that saying is? It is just as relevant now as it was when it was first uttered.

So Conyers is "sick" from the media onslaught.

What about all the people he "assaulted" ?

A likely story.

Same here, using discredited fools like Gloria Allred has ensured that real victims of sexual assault/harassment face extreme scrutiny and skepticism. Of course there needs to be a standard of proof, but this has made the lives of future political harassment whistleblowers so much more difficult - thanks to the litany of false claims and hit jobs.

For example, it was a Hillary Clinton campaign staffer accusing Roy Moore. Although, Franken's accuser (according to the ridiculous Democrats) couldn't possibly be telling the truth because she merely *voted* for POTUS Trump. That was so funny I actually busted out laughing when I heard it. They're trying to say that merely voting a certain way makes you less than credible, yet actually *working* for Clinton's campaign means nothing? Double talking hypocrites, each and every one of them. Then again, what other than lying and political prostitution could we expect from anyone even associated with Hillary Clinton?

This comeuppance is absolutely deserved, just like their devastating defeat in 2016. You'd think they would've learned something from that, but clearly not. They continue to attack Republicans, push their unwanted agenda and attack things the right holds dear (like guns, free speech, small government, individual freedom, lower taxes, common sense healthcare reform, common sense bureaucratic reform). Clearly they have only learned how to cement their minority in US politics.

Heh, no doubt rickymouse!

They won't learn, and will likely start attacking the right twice as hard. Fortunately, they are quite toothless since they can't do anything on their own in Government. POTUS can veto any bill they come up with, and without an (R)'s approval, they can pass nothing.

Trump isn't obliged to work with either party, since it clearly says nothing like this in the Constitution. So Dems who believe he *has* to work with them are sadly mistaken. Thanks to a certain someone's lack of foresight (hint: it was a Democrat leader during Obama's term), it only takes a simple majority to win a vote in congress.

...those who don't realize elections/votes/actions/words have consequences can also not understand why they aren't 500000000 points ahead
(another election dig)

Conyers is pulling the same stunt that Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. did, before ultimately being pulled from the hospital, tried, and sent to PRISON.

But at Conyer's advanced age, and heavy conscience, he might really be on his way out of here.

Oh yeah, typical bandaid MO if you ask me.

They will try to divert attention away from their beleaguered politicians (aka Conyers and the other Dems) while ignoring the real victims. The hospital bit is likely there to get him sympathy. It didn't work

That's the problem with manufactured hate and everyone pretending they're victims: the real victims get ignored and discredited by a large political machine (DNC) that is only concerned with power and self-interest.

I remember when the Democratic party (not the Democrats - fancy bureaucrats we have today) stood for something. You know, like personal freedoms, civil rights and common sense legislation that promoted personal freedoms and self-determination. The more they try to push their socialist nonsense the harder mainstream real America pushes back.

Maybe being deathly ill is Karma for being a rapist and sexual predator....What comes around goes around.

Wonder what the Karmic cost will be for defending this deplorable human being? Nancy, Maxine and a few others will find out soon enough.

Maybe he shouldn't have wasted the last few months/years of his life getting all breathless over unproven hysterical Russian conspiracy theories

It would be nice if sexual harassment allegations would ruin people on the right too, but whenever it is a person on the right then we have to attack the accusers instead.

Funny. When it's somebody from "that side" of the aisle, it's a "media assault."

Yet it's fair game when CNN selectively edits video to make the President look bad in Japan.

I can't imagine why it's different!

Just Allegations shouldn't ruin anyone....

Paying someone off to silence the victim from a Gov hush fund because they are actually proven guilty of the crime...Well that is a different story.

Conyers and Franken have been proven guilty for various reasons. They have had due process and need to go. As well as the 200 other members of Gov who have used that fund to silence their victims.

Sure, when there is credible evidence (not just a statement 10 years later during an important campaign) supporting the claims then it should. Also, anything presented during a campaign is automatically considered a hit job, thanks to the BS from 2016 election.

Oh, and no matter what, make sure Gloria Allred never gets involved. She will immediately shoot the credibility of any accuser. She's known to pay and parade accusers, who then disappear anonymously back into the woodwork. Like her notorious "yearbook" evidence against Moore, that she refuses to hand over to anyone for examination. She has stated she will turn it over to a congressional ethics review, but he isn't in congress yet! This is her way of saying she isn't handing it over, unless something impossible happens.

Just some friendly advice. Because I do believe there are Republicans that deserve to be ousted for this. Like I said, plenty of legit victims being drowned out and dumped on because some people think sexual harassment or crimes are a tool to be used politically.

I don't remember Dennis Hastert claiming a media assault.
It would be interesting to see the list of ALL the politicians that have been using the slush fund to pay off sexual harassment claims. Clean them all out... R's and D's!
