Black Friday Death Count

Well, the day is upon us again, I'm sure there will be countless videos uploaded today of people fighting and behaving like animals. I honestly never thought that people were killing each other over deals on Black Friday, let alone that there was a website with a death and injury count. The stats are up for previous years, 2017 stats coming in shortly, stay tuned.

I have inserted a video of clips taken last night and today, as i did not want to make a thread with minimal content, enjoy.

Such fine examples of humanity, America must be so proud to have reared these shining beacons of hope to the world.

Yup. Every year like clockwork. Sad.

I do most of my shopping online. Once you get the hang of it it's superior to store shopping.

Consume consume consume! It's almost as if people completely forget that they were "thankful" for what they already had literally yesterday.

Black Friday is really just a way for those in power to make us forget about being thankful and to ruin what Christmas should really be about. Christmas has turned into a corporation's wet dream, it's all about commercialism, not family. It's totally materialistic nowadays.

Nope. Just in different things. The US is definitely #1 in turkey fueled consumer rage.

Good ol Capitalism Free for All Day! Thats what I tell my kids its called. I went yesterday since my wife was working it all night. Took the daughter. We had a good time. Things in this city have really become streamlined and pacified. Pretty much all the big retailers have county deputies or city police present in all the stores now for the event. Everything always looks a disaster after about thirty minutes though.

I got the copper chef pans and Pioneer woman dish set just for her
and some things for the kids. Bought some of those $28 dollar tablets too. I did not notice anyone fighting though. I think it is more common in municipalities with a smaller number of big retailers to serve larger populations.

Although I don’t partake in Black Friday I do love the deals on fishing gear and not too many people fighting over that stuff. Waltz right in get my stuff and out. Usually not a soul in those isles except for husbands with blank stares...They’re harmless...

Go after noon and the yenta’s have had lunch are usually pooped out. It’s great!!

Canada does not get as crazy honestly, we all hold doors for each other and hand over our purchases as long as you ask nicely. lol

does material crap really mean so much to so many people? the stuff is just future landfill. i avoid crowds anyway but these snarling consumer flashmobs are particularly unpleasant to contemplate.

IDK about that, seems that most of the places listed on that website are larger metro areas.

i dont get why people go to the store at 3am with crowds like that.

i went to wal mart at 9:30 this morning to pick up an igloo mini cooler for work. i was in and out in 10 minutes. they still had stacks of tv's and everything else.
whats the point of dealing with those crowds

Lone man walks into London electronics store

Across the pond, there is some evidence that shoppers haven't exactly embraced the massive sales event that is Black Friday in the US. A BBC reporter was on the scene when Currys PC World, an electronics retailer in London, burst open its doors -- to one lone man who walked in to pick up his pre-ordered laptop. The video is perfect.

You took that comment very personally, are you one of those in the videos?

If there were an EMT burst, it would disable the majority of everything we need in our daily lives. Food, water, medicine, fuel, and travel.

What you see here would be multiplied a thousand fold. Only those with a way of defending themselves would survive. Life would only be worth a pack of smokes or a can of peaches or dog food......

Black Friday, the beginning of the Christmas season..... Peace on Earth, good will towards Man.
