I was just browsing the Daily Fail on my phone and came across this article which I thought mat be open to the usual scrutiny of ATS.

Apparently a video has been uploaded to Youtube by a user called streetcap1 1, which claims to allege fakery of the 1972 Apollo 17 Moon landing.

During this mission Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt conducted experiments on the lunar surface but in one particular image the video creator zooms in to the reflection on one of the astronauts visors and an image is seen that allegedly shows a stagehand standing in front of one of the landing team.

I must admit, I'm not big on Lunar Conspiracy theories but there does appear to be a person standing in the reflection.

Is this proof of fakery or just another case of pareidolia I wonder.

Apologies if this has already been discussed in the past or nothing more than regurgitated news.

Ask yourself, who took the photo?

Not a stage hand, that’s for sure.

The reflection of the figure in the visor, could easily be one of the Astronauts in my view, after all, someone must have taken the image.
The shadow of the so called stagehand, looks suspiciously like the shape of a person wearing a large backpack but the shape of the actual person doesn't appear to be wearing one.

Was just writing the same thing.

I'm not backing or denying this either way but I know we have a lot of members with firm views about this kind of thing.

For the record, I'm not a Moon landing Hoax theorist in any shape or form.

It would be nice to have the original image.

I doubt streetcap1 provided it for a reason

The whole moon landing hoax has always been pure Russian propaganda.

Funny how it never went away with the fall of the Soviet Union. That is very telling for subjects other than the moon as far as Russian propaganda goes.

Dude is under the influence of one John Lear.

Anyways, anyone wanting to dig into this should download some "gnu" police photo enhancement software, and the most raw form of the original you can find.

When assessing the results, dont forget to consider the reflection will be distorted with the curvature of the visor.

Ahh! but there is a conspiracy here if we consider streetcraps use
of "The power of suggestion". Try'n to pass off an astronaut as a stage
hand?

What a lame?

I'm not so sure people got your angle there...

How did one astronaut take a picture of another astronaut out on the moon when he's not facing him or pointing a camera at him?

I mean since only two of them landed you've gotta ask these questions????

Where'd did you get that from, they have always acknowledged the US Moon landings. In fact, why did the Russians for instance, put the pinger on Sputnick in that stage of space developement?

Yup! I will add that the convex of the helmet visor is not intended to enhance any reflections caught in the image.
