"Met with" isn't the same as "conspired with" isn't the same as "conspired with Trump" isn't the same as "Trump colluded with Putin."

My personal suspicion is that Trump has surrounded himself with likeminded people, i.e., unscrupulous get-rich-quick merchants who can't see a corner without cutting it, and would sell tickets and lemonade outside their grandmother's funeral. This (I think) will turn out to be that. Embarrassing, yes, sleazy, almost certainly. Watergate II? Probably not.
