I feel real bad for you. I have a huge LOVE for the U.S. John Lennon loved the U.S. He lived in New York. The UK treated him bad. The UK has treated me bad. I wonder if it is a case of the grass is greener?

I want to come visit you before I die. I want to travel across the Atlantic like the settlers of old, from Southampton and roll in off the waves into New York on "The Queen Mary 2". I live right by the Atlantic. There is no land between here and New York, only ocean. I live 50 yards from the ocean. I don't want to fly. The boat takes about a week to get there (fast) and week return. Imagine coming all that way across the ocean and seeing the Statue of Liberty rise on the horizon. Man, I want to see that.

I'm not kidding when I say that the U.S is a huge part of my life. I am connected. You are my people, too. I'm so glad I get to communicate with you here so well. You are good people. Like Bob Dylan says your country is young. Like Joan sings in this little song about you;

That is what I think of you. I shall stay by your side through every storm.

Hands off America, World! Don't mess. They are special and valued. The world would be far more in chains if not for America.

FREEDOM!

Yes, I studied Wilfred Owen. He is a great poet. "Miners" is my favourite of his verse. He died in battle just days before the end of WW1.

The weird thing is that there is only a Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. In Mandalay there is no bay. It's landlocked.

But there is a bay that skirts the shores of both India and Myamar (Burma) called Bay of Bengal.

Hey man, I'm English! I've been to Southampton a few times and like the nightlife there. Plus the forests and Winchester are a short drive away.

All things considered I'd still take them over what we see in the US.

And the EU for that matter .... Barnier, Juncker, Merkle et al.

Well John Lennon loved the U.S but why do you think the U.K treated him bad? He was assassinated in New York!

Anyway on the topic of this thread Boris was probably testing just how far he can push his luck and not get sacked. He'll probably start singing "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" on a visit to America's Southern States next.

You know they say, the Illuminati or whatever secret group there is supposedly doing all this sinister stuff, always puts little signs that say: “Yeah, MF’s we did this,
what are you going to do about it”

nothing...as usual

I think Riki Tiki Tavi is a good story. It's about a mongoose.

Boris Johnson is not 'awesome', he is a blithering idiot who is about as diplomatic as a punch in the face. Appointing him to the FO was a massive mistake and he will hopefully soon be given the Black Spot and escorted from the premises.

This is just a weird coincidence, but the British Foreign Secretary BORIS JOHNSON was reported the day before the "MANDALAY BAY" Las Vegas Incident as being politically inappropriate when he recited Rudyard Kipling's "MANDALAY" in a Myanmar Templet.

Strange coincidences all round. Perhaps we are in some strange matrix?

EDIT: The poem is actually entitled "MANDALAY". Edited accordingly, even better score!

I think he is a maverick, outspoken and sometimes clumsy bull in a china with his words but he's no idiot. He is quite intelligent and knows what he is doing. And if he is speaking out about BREXIT because he was ultimately responsible for it coming to fruition then I would rather he spoke out for the cause/mission than be silent!

Boris is not to be underestimated!
