The Sheriff said more than 200.

Are you saying I should use my own judgment to sort fact from fiction regarding this shooting and disregard what law enforcement has officially stated on the record?

If you hadn't been an ass about it and called me a liar, I would have likely tried to find it for you. But, now you can forget about that. Go look for it yourself....have fun.

Most likely mistake along the line - someone may have sent Lombardo release with wrong figure or someone
told it to Lombardo and got it wrong or heard it wrong

Ever play TELEPHONE ...?? In passing information verbally from one person to other things often get garbled

So should I just assume all the official info is fraught with errors when it doesn't seem logical, realistic, or plausible?

Good to know.

No reason for you to get your nose out of joint when people speculate there was more than one shooter or anything else then.

I didn't make your claim, you did. So it's on you to prove it.

And I didn't call you a liar, I said it sounded like lies.

So, you did not imply I was lying? By saying, "No. That sounds more like lies than life." That statement implies I was lying.

So, admit that....like I admitted I had not proof and am not defending the number.

OP, sorry for the off-topic crap.

Ok. It sounded like you made up a BS lie like a lying liar would. I admit that's how it sounded to me.

I struggle with this 200 rounds down the hall narrative. First of all it would have shredded the door into sawdust, but it also would have covered the hallway in sheetrock dust and I'm not seeing that. Plus, the other door leaf wasn't hit at all from what I can see.

A 30 round mag takes about 4 seconds to fire through. Looks like he was firing 60's, so say 8 seconds to clear. 200 rounds is (3) 60 round mags + 75% of a 4th 30 round mag. That's 26 seconds of sustained fire. Look at your watch and see how long it takes 26 seconds to tick off. Now imagine full auto gunfire going on for that whole period of time. And he put all the rounds through a single door / doorway, without hitting anything else (the other door, the frame, the wall)????

Seems pretty hard to believe to me.

I agree it sounds ridiculous...but that is what the Sheriff has been quoted as saying and it has not been corrected if that figure was wrong.

Link to CNN

It's obvious BS, IMO, but that's part of the official story...200 rounds shot through the door and into the hallway where Campos approached...

Of course you should think for yourself and question official statements. Its litteraly the actual premise of this entire website.

I was referring to the door by the cart, which leads to the adjoining rooms. It is apparently fine. So we're back to the door to the suite that's all shot up.

What I haven't seen is the door to the stairway, which should be about opposite the door to the adjoining rooms.

Do tell??? Seriously!

What makes you think it's a "hit piece" and who's the "hit" on? And why an alphabet agency? Which one? And why not more than one?

I'm 99% certain one of the weapons we hear being discharged is a US M240 belt fed machine gun.
Since it seems impossible to nail down it's location due to sound I have a theory -
It was being fired from a stealth helicopter.
When the firing first breaks out there is a helicopter with lights on passing behind the Mandalay Bay.
One without lights could have kept moving behind buildings to hide it's presence.

I ask because he did have 1000 of those he did not use. And the fact the jet fuel tanks were hit, it is plausible he tried to penetrate them to cause a breach and fuel leakage. Then use the tracers in a feeble attempt at igniting that leaked fuel. In addition, if the fuel did leak, he would get even more panic of people running back into his lie of fire towards the hotel.

Either that, or he had planned to put one or two tracers near the end of each mag to indicate it was about to run out. That keeps a round in the chamber when switching to a new mag.

Is there any footage of tracers being fired because I haven't seen it.
It's standard practice to put 1 tracer in every 5 or 10 bullets (not sure) in a belt fed machine gun to follow the firing pattern. M240 has a very distinct firing rhythm that many ex military have stated as hearing being fired.

I know at least a few different sources said he tried to buy tracer rounds but was unsuccessful.

The casino industry is going to have to do some heavy PR work on the word "Paddock".

It's a common theme because of horse racing.

The legal bookies make good money from horse racing bets.

That data is for shooting level like at a shooting range.

shooting down at a angle like the shooter was will give you a different set of numbers.

Like I already stated he was sweeping the crowd with automatic fire at night. Bullet drop isn't really relevant fired into a massed target like that.

There are other factors, his bump stocks create such vibration that its impossible to sight , especially thru a scope, at a darkened area target (at night) thru muzzle flash.

Most people have never fired automatic weapons, don't know what thats like. The focus is on providing the most stable or 'fixed' mount possible. His rifles were not 'mounted' except by bipod on a couch back or window sill.

'Sweeping' fire, is named that after 'sweeping' like with a broom. Back and forth, back and forth. The movement of the upper shoulders precludes sighting other than over the top of the barrel, the stock tight into the shoulder, left arm holding down on the fore grip or stock, to prevent muzzle climb as much as possible, keeping the hose 'spray' of rounds in the kill 'zone' or 'box', as much as possible.

20 to 30 inches of bullet drop in this instance is irrelevant. He is not 'aiming' at specific targets in this sense, he is pointing...
