It's crazy to me how a piece of cloth deserves more respect than actual people in this country, or any country for that matter. We insult each other and call each other every name under the sun yet when a piece of cloth is "insulted" (as if that's even possible, lol) that's the final straw?

Patriotism is a funny thing. Also dangerous.

I'm sure they'll be fine still making their millions and having millions still watching.

I can only do my part. A long journey starts with the first step.

Nope. I just found it curious that hockey is apparently the only place safe from these left-influenced n'er-do-wells. Perhaps it's the cold. Or the skating.

I think the saying goes something like, "hockey players don't like playing with other men's balls."

I think they should make them stand for the Anthem, then kneel and pray, then stand on their hands and walk 3 laps around the field.

And what's up with the cheerleaders? Where do they stand in all of this?

My thing is this...doesn't matter what country you live in your honor thy flag and thy national anthem that goes with it. Whether it happens in a football, soccer, hockey, basketball, baseball, equestrian, olympic event, etc...it doesn't matter what sport, you still have to respect the country the freedom to allow you to become an athlete or a spectator of that sport.

Heck, even the Mexicans get it right. They're always bringing their flags to everything in the US.

Well that's a sport I will have nothing to do with! The nerve of those men.

And to think, if Trump would have just kept his nose out of it all these players wouldn't have reacted like they did and you'd still be watching something you used to love. Oh well, what Trump says goes I guess.

And to think, if Trump hadn't interfered with his Trump nonsense, we'd still be talking about the "no go" of North Korea.
The back-stepping, the reining in of the Tump.

Another brilliant distraction to keep the public's attention away from the list of epic failures of this administration and instead add to the agenda of dividing us all further and further.

Of course, it's the pucks. Only sports with balls are susceptible to the left's evil influence! So don't worry folks, there's always hockey, curling and ummmm... I was gonna say frisbee golf but I'm pretty sure that's already lousy with libtard stoners.

Don't worry. As soon as those sports get popular and the leftists see people having a good time with them, they'll come use hockey and the rest as their political platform just the same and ruin it.

You are not allowed to escape the message and if you do, the message will follow you. They're as insidious as Jehovah's Witnesses ever were.

Hmmm, maybe there's some deeper subconscious meaning here. Ball busters!

Isn't that one of the foundations of this country, playing with other men's balls? How dare those Canadians ruin one of our great traditions! I'm outraged, I demand they start slapping their balls instead of pucks, I'm writing my Congressman. They probably think the balls would be too big but don't they know they shrink when cold? The nerve of some people.

I doubt that the leagues will be too hurt by your boycott. I get what you're saying but I'm still gonna watch, I actually lobe the sport.

Yeah, progressive liberals are always ruining things like segregation, the lack of woman's suffrage, the 100+ hour work week with no overtime in horrid conditions, child labor and the sanctity of marriage, amirite? Our proudest achievement was ruining the incandescent light bulb though. Simply diabolical and all it took was working with the Chinese to invent the myth of global warming.

You do realize that this is precisely what the extreme left wants is for football to die.

Our "escape" no longer feels like so much of an escape. It's happening in more than just the NFL, the NBA is another good example. And it is being pushed on kids. How sad!

I don't care about political sides or agendas with this b.s., sports venues are not the time or place for politics.

If you are a relevant athlete then use your voice outside of the game and venue. Easy.
