We knew it, didn't we. A European military force that would crush any local dissent with out of town soldiers.

www.bbc.co.uk...

The French president has called for a joint EU defence force . . .

Stuff that.

Been saying this for years now...
The ultimate goal is the United States Of Europe with a combined Armed Forces...

No thanks.
Glad we got out of that sh*t.

Just as this is announced in the U.K:

Of the seven men arrested in total over the bombing in London on 15 September, one has been charged with attempted murder and the remaining six released.

Now as far as I can remember, everything I've seen on suspects being arrested compared to being charged with terrorism offences, the odds of those arrested is always sky high compared to very low odds of even being charged with anything, from the top of my head it applies to the U.S. as well. And yet, when we here scum like May or Macron talk, they make it sound like there's legions of armies out there just waiting to scream "Allahu Akbar" while inflicting a minor percentage of what their countries have had thrown at them with total brutality, repeatedly.

The terrorism deal is a scam and has been from the start, but these politicians will use it, twist it, milk any sniff of it to make more power grabs. Additionally, notice how the web gets blame, never with evidence, just because it's there and the powers want more control over it.

Didn't John Titor predicted that there will be a unified European Army?

Russian military might makes in inevitable and necessary. Do you not know about the war games they have been having on their borders with Europe?

Russia is still not an ally of the EU, Britain or the U.S. We get on with China much better. There is not the same trade interlocking going on with Russia. They have their own interests that are not the same as the EU's. We are competitors. That requires a strong stance.

Just asking you to consider this. It's not all paranoid the EU want to take over the world. It is guarding freedom. The UK will benefit from it, too and I am sure they will end up contributing even to some extent as allies.

edition.cnn.com...

CNN)In Russia and neighboring Belarus, the Zapad military exercise begins today. The two countries' Western neighbors have been worried. Zapad is Russian for "West," and of all the different major exercises in the Russian military calendar, it causes the most excitement and concern because it is the one that most closely resembles practice for war with NATO. As a result, this regular event receives a lot more attention than other Russian manoeuvers of similar size. Held every four years, the exercise can even develop its own mythology: Much of the Western coverage said that the 2009 exercise ended with a simulated nuclear attack on Warsaw, Poland, even though there is no evidence at all from unclassified sources to suggest this was the case.

Complacency and dropping the guard on one's interest has been known to be fatal.

Not quite, it's just that the EU is an extra handy guard dog for those U.S. paranoia's on Russia

And you used CNN as a source?

Russian military might?

they can project power in a regional conflict at best, the days of the russian bear sweeping through the fulda gap to conquer europe are gone.

They do not have the logistics to do so, if memory serves the Air Craft carrier had to be towed a good portion of the way to Syria.

That was always the goal. British MP's (Labour Party) just pretended it was membership of the EU market to boost trade. They'd slip it past us bit and bit, hoping we wouldn't notice. Harmonization of electrical, electronic and safety standards to boost trade. Only to have manufacturing shipped off to the Far East.
Germany needed the Euro stop everyone buying up Deutchmarks the minute there was a financial hurricane down in the Mediterranean.

I can't see how the EU army would work. Sounds like they would grab all the high end equipment and give command to whichever generals and admirals are in favor at the time. They would certainly have their eyes on being in command of an aircraft carrier. The problem with the EU is that everyone wants to be in command but noone wants to spend any of their own money.

It seems that paranoia is originating in the E.U., as much or more so than the U.S.. It is used as an excuse for continued U.S. taking far too much of the financial load, the E.U.'s well developed MIC, and the excuse for an E.U. army. The future for individual member states of the E.U. is clear. They will be relegated to the 'State-class' of the individual American states with little or no autonomy.

This will not go away as long as NATO exists. The desire for expanded powers by the NATO crowd will drive this movement far into the future even if stymied in present.

A secure Europe with no chance for internal conflicts and lose national autonomy or full independence for each with bi-lateral defense pacts and an increased risks of returning to the bad old days.

Now that the UK has had the good sense to leave all the stuff we knew was on the agenda is coming out. The president of France openly advocating what the Remainers denied as nothing but a scare story.

Screw a United States of Europe and screw a European intervention force. I want no part of either and have never been as happy to vote out as seeing this.

This is unsurprising. The UK has always been a balance in the EU and tempered these ideas. With the UK leaving the whole landscape is shifting. However, let's see where this takes the EU because there are countries in the EU who fear this direction of travel, but I expect the ideologues won't give a toss about them because they have no chance of escaping.

Give it a decade and let's see where the EU is.

Honest question.
