US Shutters Russia's San Francisco Consulate in Retaliation

In an escalating tit-for-tat, the United States forced Russia on Thursday to shutter its consulate in San Francisco and scale back its diplomatic presence in Washington and New York, as relations between the two former Cold War foes continued to unravel.

The Trump administration said the move constituted its response to the Kremlin's "unwarranted and detrimental" decision to force the U.S. to cut its diplomatic staff in Russia. Under the order, Russia must close its San Francisco consulate by Saturday, along with Russia's "chancery annex" in Washington and a "consular annex" in New York.

"The United States is prepared to take further action as necessary and as warranted," said State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert. Still, she said the U.S. hoped both countries could now move toward "improved relations between our two countries and increased cooperation on areas of mutual concern."

So now we have the U.S. telling Russia to shut facilities and reduce diplomatic "presence".

Russia probably don't care that much about America. There is just about 0 economic ties between Russia and America. Russia's main focus is Syria, where there is lots of natural resources and geo strategic interests.

Most of that is rocket engine. NASA's spacecraft is coming online soon, which means there will be just about 0 trade between Russia and America in a few years. At that point, both countries can cut the last diplomatic ties and close embassies.

America already cutting Russian tourists to America. Soon Americans and Russians will never see each other in person, only on the media, where Americans are bashed as demons on Russian media and Russians are bashed as demons on American media.

This is some kind of engineered outage.

America started this with the repossessing of the Russian Dachas on US soil over the alleged election interference.

And it keeps on pushing the envelope instead if letting it go.

Trump isn't bright enough to recognise by alienating Russia over little things like this, he is going to have a major problem when he let's the bombs drop on North Korea now.

I would say Trump is forced by disingenuous media and Democrats colluding forcing some Russian narrative that Trump has to go overboard to dismiss. They won't be happy unless America is destroyed and they can blame Trump. America succeeding would be devastating to them.
