They have some awesome compilations. When the infomercial came on I thought if it comes in under $100 its mine. $99.99.
208 episodes on 28 dvds, free shipping and loads of extras. I've been looking for this for years. I never missed an episode when I was a kid. Not only one of the funniest shows ever I don't think there was a more important one. Archie was the epitome of someone racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. Laughing at his over the top antics did a lot for these issues imo. One drawback. Its coming from Kentucky so its going to be 3-4 weeks coming. No prob. I've waited this long. Chuckles to look forward to.

Worth every penny.

Wow. So, you got the entire collection plus extras?

It's a very genius, timeless social commentary.

I really got into it watching TVLand reruns with my best friend many many years ago, and watched it every time I could. It's hilarious, and, as "dated" as it is, accurately representative of modern times. His over the top antics and arguments with Mike, well.....lol

I actually wrote a pilot script in college substituting former governments peeps for then current.

See if you can't find the book

"The wit and wisdom of Archie Bunker"

Copyright 1971 by tandem productions..

I keep my copy in the book stand next to the crapper.

I just thumbed through it for a few quotes to post..But I am afraid I might get a manners violation..there is no way they could make that show in today's climate.

Congratulations on your purchase bro!

And you could have got all that for free. Does it have all 3 pilot episodes?

What I liked about it was that it was videotaped with a live audience; very theatre-like, which was unusual at that time but became more common afterward.

Archie on woman's lib.

"Alright Edith, go right ahead do your thing. . .But just remember that your thing is eggs over easy and crisp bacon."

On politics

"Take inflation. Inflation is directly connected to your wage price index which has nothing to do with the president__'cause his wages is fixed by Congress an' so is his price!"

Christmas day at the Bunkers

Edith: maybe that's it Archie. . . We don't have no chestnuts roasting on a fire.

Archie(annoyed): Edith.. . How long have we lived in this here house?

Edith(earnestly): twenty years,Archie.

Archie(visibly annoyed): and in all them twenty years,Edith, did you ever happen to notice a fireplace around here?

Edith(ponderous): No. . .

Archie(angry): How are you gonna have roasted chestnuts,Edith, if the house is heated by radiators huh?

Edith(matter of factly): You're right Archie, radiated chestnuts wouldn't be the same.

Rofl.

R.I.P.

Jean Stapleton and Carroll O'Conner

My dad an I used to watch the Bunkers. My dad never said anything like what came out of Archies mouth, but he sure did chuckle watching that show.

I typed out the quotes as they are spelled in my book. I agree his pronunciations made everything funnier.

There is much "racier" things in there but I didn't want to catch a t&c ..

Edit to add

For me the funniest part of the show would be when Edith would finally catch on to what was happening and say.

"Oh."

"Ohhhhhhhh. "

Omg ..lol kills me every time..

Great show. Watched them all myself.
They wouldn't put a show like that on TV these days. Too racist, too everything you're not allowed to say.

Are they still in syndication ? I was actually just thinking about it last night, feeling like watching one.

ENJOY!
