That border "fence" and its maintenance funds are not at risk or in question. Trumpsters are conflating the already in place and contruction approved border fences and their maintenance with Trumps huge new, see through, solar operated solid wall!

64 House "Democrats" vote for Border Fence

Sep 16, 2006

The following 64 "Democrats" voted to build a 700-mile border fence along the border with Mexico and sold out to the gigantic corporations by creating a permanent underclass of workers who can do nothing but cheap labor for our economy.

BwaaaHaHaHa

That definitely changes the fact that your God, er guy, lied to you.
Sooooo not a typical deflection.

Well done as always sir.

The promise was for Mexico to pay for the wall. No other option is acceptable.

PS: Obama started his Presidency in 2009; not 2006.

Yeah lets shut the government down over a useless wall. Only the scared little sheep think its needed. Those of us who have been on the border know it would be a waste of time and money. Are we going to build a wall through mountains and river valleys too? Get over it. It's just another fake campaign promise. Mexico is going to be paying for it! LMAO. And NAFTA isn't going anywhere either. It was raise the cost of goods for all Americans. Another fake campaign promise.

Illinois was "shut down" for 2 years and 3 months. Nobody noticed, or really cared.

Now it's back running. Nobody notices, or really cares.

"Shut down" is just an official name that amounts to public servants not getting paid. After the shutdown, they get everything owed to them.

It's a big nothing burger.

I'm sure the people not getting paychecks for those weeks or months don't think of it as a nothingburger. Nice sympathy you are displaying there.

Facts are the Wall was agreed on.

So why doesn't the Trump administration push a vote for the financing - for something already voted on and then get 'er done?

peace

Fact is Trump wants to do something nigh on impossible..and he knows it....so it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that this is a good way of getting out by blaming someone else!

Well, Trump campaigned on building the wall and on the fact that Mexico would pay for it. Trump claimed last night that he campaigned and won because Americans want the wall, (they were told Mexico would pay for). So, I guess Trump believes his constituents "bought it".

But ironically, now Trump is threatening to shut down the government if Congress doesn't make American tax payers pay for the wall, and he's blaming the Democrats for breaking his promise to the American people. And the Trumpsters are buying it, hook line and sinker!

You can't make this stuff up!

Well...you could make it up. Trump does as he goes. And I wish he would...go....

*PARAPHRASING BELOW TO MAKE THE POINT.

*Donald-"Believe me! We're gonna build the wall...and Mexico is gonna pay for it! Believe me!"
Donald-"We're gonna dump Obamacare immediately. Believe me!"
Donald-"When it comes to ISIS...I know more than the Generals do. Believe me! I'm ordering them to get rid of ISIS in 30 days. Believe me!"

Now its gonna be closing the ENTIRE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT...at great effect and cost to Americans...because Mexico WONT pay for the wall?

I don't believe any twisted thing he says, does, implies or refers. He knows NOTHING about government nor how it works and why.

Believe me!

If Mr. Trump were to build TheWall™ would He use Romanians like at His hotels?

Why not have DICK Cheney and all the other dicks at Haliburton™ spend some of those BILLION$ they've $u¢ked out of Iraq?

Now between You and I and I -- What if Trump were to build a wall, wouldn't 'the other group' just protest enough until they tear down the wall? And some pale faced White guy w/blue eyes and honey brown hair in the middle of The Middle East would tweet "Tear down that wall...Donnie" followed by a bunch of emojis include the little brown one that looks like a Slurpee™ but brown..

Would 'They' just try and erase it all ala Pharaoh Hatshepsut? ('They' probably did that because SHE was Yin, just like Adam's first wife, Lilith.. funny how that works.)

I doubt very seriously he meant that Mexico would directly pay for the contractors to build the wall he meant that we would renegotiate And change up our trade deals so that Mexico wasn't sticking it to the US and would pay for it in that way.

Mexico was promised to pay for the wall, not American consumers, who are the one's who would have to bear the higher cost of trade with Mexico should a trade war or higher tariffs be implemented.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Mexico was able to strike a better deal with Japan, Canada, Russia, China, etc., if they're let off the hook in the US trade agreements.

Ok, the article goes on and on - but - what I don't get is back when Barry was in office in 2006? It was voted on by the Dems and passed.

Who is this 'Barry' that you're referring to?

Also, 700 miles is 1/3 of the length of the border. Furthermore, the bill you're referring to didn't fund any fence or wall or anything but it would have granted amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.

Are you suggesting that Democrats shouldn't have voted for the bill?

ETA: I almost forgot: Trump is an idiot. He can't single-handedly shutdown the government. Just like he can't declare the opioid epidemic a national emergency by simply saying, ' I declare it a national emergency.' I'd say we elected a clown but clowns are smarter than that.

.

There is a simple way to guarantee this happens.

Trump immigrates to Mexico, and becomes a Mexican citizen.

Then, as a Mexican, he uses his billions of dollars in wealth to write the check that pays for the wall.

Done!

Mexico pays for the wall.

And its within Donald's power to see that it does happen according to his words and what he said and promised.

But, does The Donald have "the will" to see it through?

And what makes you think the majority of us wouldn't want to pay for it? I'm perfectly fine with my tax dollars going towards the wall, and will enjoy the money returned on the investment when its finished and NAFTA is gone.

A better fight than the Dems threatening to shut down the government for more planned parenthood funding. Hey, why don't the majority of leftist billionaires fund PP?

Mexico was supposed to pay for it that's why. That's what he said. What he wants to build is going to be super expensive and I'd rather that money go to other things like fixing roads and stuff.

There are cheaper and more effective ways to guard the boarder than a big stupid wall. Unless Mexico wants to pay, in which case build whatever you want with that money.
