I mostly feel sorry for the transgender child. The hilarity of the situation is none of you care about them though, while I understand expressing gender identity at that age is almost too-delicate. The issue is the kid was actually transgender, and was actually going to be in the class, so they needed to know. It was a need to know situation.

Kid probably is busy drinking beach now though because the entire internet think's they're gay and will never live this down and it never was in their control in the slightest. The girl that cried won't even #ing remember, the trans kid however is scared for life.

And will probably start a dumb ass liberal career of "being oppressed since 5" and turn into the #ing monster you people create in a endless feedback loop.

The other 5 year olds did not need to know. This is a non issue, and making the "trans" kid be a prop was a terrible abuse of trust.

5 year olds don't care. Adults do, and some adults wear this issue on the shirt sleeve. Making a 5 year old say they are trans is silly, they very well may want to be a mermaid by the end of class.

It is not an easy subject.

I am in support of people being who ever they want to be, the age thing is sticky and when it comes to parents and their children, look out.

in this scientific age i think using all these confused philosophical and emotional ideas to determine gender should be discarded and we should focus on three solid things instead.

1. which genitalia do they physically have.
2. how is their brain wired and is it that way by nature or external factors
3. their dna

just declaring yourself something based on feelings and nothing more is silly, you aren't black or asian or white just because a few unfounded words declines you so, at least in this scientific age.

we are more than feelings, wants and desires.

confused emotional people should not determine what another person is at any age, this is just manipulative social engineering and kindergarten should be about friends, fun, manners and basic learning, not sex, politics and other adult baggage.

Realizing they are little boys or girls is different than coming out trans in their kindergarten class in front of uninformed children with out the parents permission.

A friend of my daughters has a 6 year old girl. She doesn't like being treated like a girl, and insists that she be addressed by a boys name (which is not a derivative of her own). Her parents are accommodating her wishes.
I would suggest that this young individual has a better idea as to her gender concerns than you do.

Agreed, children are very advanced by the age of 5 or 6, much more intelligent then we give them credit for.

I actually get all my business and personal tax advice from my neighbors 5 year old, he's been a life saver.

Well if your junior accountant is indeed 5 or 6, they got to be right. I bet you have a hard time reaching the accountant around 2:30-nap time.

I just read about this In the news, what is next, schools nurses giving hormone therapy information and injections to hurry up sex change.

Schools is the last place a parent want to teach their children about personal and private choices specially in kindergarten, kindergarten is about introduction children to the school system and learning read, write and simple math, no about sex change and transgenderism.

The liberal agenda is getting desperate, they want to expose these young kids to this.

This is hard enough for young adults to deal with. Look at the suicide rates and the wavering back and forth after a life changing decision is made. I think this belongs in a more clinical setting and a school room with 1/2 sized chairs and snack time is not it. And using a 5 year old as a prop is sick.

My daughter does that too, her name is Reagan and she likes to use the name Max and act like a boy.

Sure some times she likes to use the name Max and act like a dog too ...

I don't think I will be encouraging her to explore her gender ideanty or her human ideanty and time soon. Instead I'm just going to play with her and think of many new ways to use and develop her imagination.

So just for the fun of it, as a great little logic puzzle for some.

If

you subscribe to the logic that a child at 5 is aware enough about their bodies, gender/sex and the ramifications of their choices and changes, and is capable of making a rational, logical decision to changer their g/s.

Then

You also have to allow them to do such things as:
-Cut off body parts - if they don't want their hand, they obviously know whats best and the consequences of removing it. So cut that baby off.
-Get tatoo's or piercings
-eat 10 lbs of butter, every day, for weeks, nutrition requirements are "childs play" compared to gender dynamics.
-If they think they can fly, they probably can. They know their body better than I. Have a safe flight little jimmy.

I'm sure I"m missing some others.

From a logic standpoint, I don't understand the duality of a child being "not equipped" for some decisions while all knowing on others. This really is just the worst when it comes to this new wave of political nonsense. I really don't care though, I'm just observing the self destruction of a species that surprisingly made it this far. Enjoy the next 82 years, they'll be the most entertaining.
