Its interesting that an Ancient Eastern Symbol, which was also stylised in Ancient Greek art.....namley the "Swastika", has been turned into a symbol of hate from the 20th century, for many people now.

I believe its true meaning was one of unity and togetherness.

It is still seen in ancient Indian architecture, East Asian, namely Chinese, Khmer people and many others, and its meaning is totally different to that of the "European Tribes".

You wont see Asian people demonstrating against the Swastika.

Also note that the word "Nazi" is bandied around as some hateful word, over the past 80 years or so.

But, my understanding is, it is just a hypocorism (shortened name) for the title Socialist Nationals.

Or Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei in its native tongue.

Which when spoken in German....sounds like "NAZI-onal".....hence shortened to Nazi Party....in English.

I welcome if our German members can confirm this, or otherwise.

This was a thread attempting to highlight the very real concern of rising far-right extreme groups. The argument that a group of Nazis is okay because 'look at the anti-Nazis' is ridiculous, perhaps another thread should be used to condemn anti-fascists?

The fact that people think it appropriate to reply to an opening topic with some decent evidence with a couple of pictures which basically say 'nothing to see here, look over there', says a lot about this website.

I'd actually like to see this resolved peacefully, but it won't be; I'd like all the Nazis to feel safe enough to speak up, to shout from the rooftops about who they are. That way, we know who they are.

I think people need to remember that there are no moderate nazis, the entire ideology is one of hatred and domination; when that's understood, and when you understand why the push back is so fierce and demanding, maybe we can begin to wind down antifa, But that's unlikely as well

Extremism, be it left or right, does not rise unseeded from fallow ground. Ask what is fomenting these risings.

I've had my own encounters with both groups, American Nazi's and those who are supposedly different. Different in name only, I'm sorry to say. In name only. Their actions are much the same. I can't really tell the difference between the scars I got from the Nazi's, or from the "resistance".
