Fox News is at it again. They are pushing a new story about NK and Kim torturing and killing those who are religious.
www.foxnews.com...

"The North Korean regime has continued to position itself as the one of the world’s worst persecutors of the religious, torturing and killing people who practice their faith, according to a new State Department report released Tuesday."

Anyone else think this is just another attempt to get the people behind an attack on NK? The timing is all too convenient in my eyes.

I think if you live in North Korea and worship anything other than Kim,
you are as good as dead or at least hard labor.

I think the world is already fully aware of that fact,
so they are just telling people what they already know.

So is the story false?
I have never been to North Korea, so I can't be sure.

They're really pulling at people's heartstrings with this one and all to justify war. That's ironic because the war they're asking for will probably kill everyone that they were supposedly trying to save plus some.

Just the right wing media pumping out right wing propaganda. The war drums are beating.

It is well known that NK represses its people with prison camps and worse.

Link

Satellite imagery of North Korea’s network of political prison camps show its government is continuing to maintain, and even invest, in these repressive facilities. These camps constitute the cornerstone of the country’s large infrastructure dedicated to political repression and social control that enables widespread and systematic human rights abuses. Assessments of the satellite images of two political prison camps – known as kwanliso -- collected in May and August show the addition of new guard posts, upgrading of a reported crematorium, and on-going agricultural activities.

Correct. It appears to be an appeal to religion, which Fox is known for.

This is more of where I was going with the original post.

We all know that it happens but the timing it what hits me more than anything. Just today, Kim says he is going to hold off with the Guam missile test and now that story has faded off. To keep us from forgetting that we hate Kim, that post about him being antireligion.

North Korea is executing, torturing and enslaving those who practice religion, US says in new report

Your headline. Maybe you are opposite than other folks here. You didnt read the headlines.
Sounds like Fox is reporting the current news as delivered
Next time , you may want to read the headlines first....

I'm a bit confused here? The State Dept. releases an annual report, a news source reports on it and the news source is the story?

I think you may have selected a bad example for whatever point you're trying to make. Do you disagree with the State Dept. report?

Hiding what's happening there would be a story to condemn, not exposing what it is like for citizens there.

We are not going to attack NK and NK is just engaging in their version of cold warfare through propaganda. Most of what we hear coming out of there is propaganda for it's own citizens. They know the world knows the real story.

Too late.

There was some kind of possible nuclear "event" in NK last night.

Media silent.

The second paragraph from the article.

"The 2016 Annual Report on International Religious Freedom determined that the government led by dictator Kim Jong Un continues to delineate brutal punishments for those who engage in faith-bound acts outside of worshipping the country’s leadership. The punishment includes “executions, torture, beatings and arrests.”

Their "new report" is from 2016. Timing is everything to the news and to me this one is just good timing.

Again, I do not doubt these things happen. We ALL know how bad the oppression is over there. I just feel the timing is working in the medias favor. This is the headline on FoxNews as if it's breaking news to us that he is terrible.

Between Foxnews on the right Warbaiting ,and CNN/MSNBC on the left race baiting , we would be lucky if we only got WW3 going.

It just struck me as odd when I went to check the news tonight and this was first. I thought we had moved on from Kim and were worried about KKKbLMQWERTY now. Lol
