Dear friends,

I waited all summer for this beauty to bloom, and had in fact written the poor plant off (it looked terrible- I thought that the vicious Colorado sun would scorch this down to nothing before the summer was out and even the leaves indicated such).

So imagine my delight when I spotted this, a most lovely sight, in my garden yesterday morning.

Now I might never have shared this but that by this morning, the bloom had wilted and its beauty was gone. One glorious day upon this earth was all it had and I thought that its ephemeral beauty had to be shared.

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour

-William Blake

Thanks friends for taking the time to look at something beautiful and have a good night!

One day of beauty is worth a million days of ugliness. Very pretty.

Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it like I did.

It's a hibiscus
They need a lot of water, I've discovered

Have a great night!

Stunning.

Do you recall the last time it bloomed? It may be a biennial which would make this bloom you captured very special. Thanks for sharing.

Hi!

I planted the bush this spring, so I don't know how often it will bloom!

Wish I had a more exciting answer because a rare bloom would be awesome to capture and share with you

Zos, you took an amazing Pic that really captures the simple, yet perfect balance of nature. The colors are amazing and the rain drops enhance the beauty as well. Thank you for sharing both the flower and your photography skills with us! It was a nice way to start my morning!

Thanks,

You should buy it Zos...and try to capture something beautiful with it every day. Not only will it be a timeless representation of all the wonderful things this world has to offer, but it will keep you, yourself, in good spirits. Make you seek out the positive things, search for them, and see the world through new eyes.

You certainly have the talent, I think you should explore this a bit more and see where it takes you.

Thanks,
blend57

Then I'd say you are living life in the very best possible way.

I do believe our hearts were designed for this.

Thank you for the wonderful comment and the lesson I'm taking away from this is to never shy away from sharing joyful or beautiful things!
