You've been told that none of them have ever been asked for advice by the President on how to influence the investigation AND they have never been directed to do anything illegal, immoral or inappropriate.

It's likely Trump did have conversations with them about what they are allowed to do to shut the fake news down, but that is not illegal or inappropriate. I suspect they are not interested in giving irrelevant red meat to angry and upset democrats looking for anything they can get to keep their fake news narrative alive.

No it isn't. They have made the position clear, which removes any shred of doubt from their perspective that Trump is innocent of any cooked up accusation about obstruction of Justice. In a private setting they have agreed to be more specific about the actual conversations that took place.
