The Allman Brothers are one of my favorite bands, I've seen them many times or various members with other bands. One of my fondest memories is my 21st birthday, my friends and I went to an Allman brothers show, it was hot, muggy and windy, full moon. Everyone was half naked and stoned and the band was on fire... pretty sure some babies were made in that parking lot.

RIP

Well.....crap. Really like the Allman Bros. One of my favorite TV shows even used one of their songs for the opening theme.

All you gearheads know who I'm talking about.

Was never a huge fan, but that's my preference in music.
The impact that dudes like this had upon generations of people, resulting in political policies, and overall influence on society is undeniable.
I hope he finds the peace in heaven that he sought here on earth.

I think Cher was fairly choked up about it. She loved him deeply at some point but his addiction to heroin is what lead her to annul the marriage . Such a great talent .. and so many great talents have or have had that issue.

Does anyone know how he died ? Not suggesting it was an overdose.. just curious.

May he rest in peace which ever way it was .

It appears he passed peacefully at home after a long two year struggle with various illnesses.

He most likely beat his heroin addiction years ago ..

I can't tell the difference between an Allman Brother and a Doobie Brother...
But then again, I was born in '75.

One of the greats for sure.
Played Blue Sky at my wedding; makes me smile every time.

There's an epic Mountain Jam out there w/the Allmans & the Dead.
Such a groove.

RIP Gregg. You'll be missed man...
