What urge are you talking about? We are talking about RELIGIONS. Religions are the reason for massacre. Also the "urge" is because people keep painting ALL Muslims as the bad guys, blaming them for terrorism and massacres.

Then where are all the Buddhist, Amish, Mormon, Christian, Confucian, Taoist massacres? No, religions are not the reasons for massacres.

If you hold all religions and religious people to be the same, I have to wonder if you do the same to other groups of people?

It gets so very very wearing I agree and yes I think we do lose sympathy along the way when we're bombarded with images and fear mongering so regularly. As our dear London Mayor said "Terrorism is part & parcel of living in a large city"
Strange that coz I don't recall much terrorism in British large cities 30-50 years ago

And yes I do the same to other groups.

You're half way there. Now weigh Buddhist violence and Islamic violence on the scales of your reason.

Burma and Africa

Now go ahead and weigh those massacres against the massacres of Islam. Put them in a pile next to each other and see which one is bigger and smaller. Tally them if need be. Then tell me which one is better or worse, and therefor which is the greater threat.
edit on 26-5-2017 by LesMisanthrope because: (no reason given)

Of course silly boy there are degrees of violence in various religions. Nobody is denying that. And I know that it seems most of the violence is coming out of ME. Nobody is denying that. The point is religions is the cause of MOST of ills in history.

All massacres are bad; you asked I answered. I'm not keeping score as to which dogma is worse, they all inspire crazy.

"All massacres are bad". "They all inspire crazy". Your relativism is getting us all killed.

There are positions that are arrived at after a careful, intelligent and balanced consideration of all the available evidence.

This isn't one of them:

The point is religions is the cause of MOST of ills in history.

How's so? We in America have strong vetting process. I feel bad for Europe and I wish they would solve the problem. Does that surprise you?

People like to make that claim a lot. Truth is Christianity has led to the birth of western civilization. And that has banned slavery and said every one has rights. Like it or not you wouldn't have any freedoms without christianity.

You should keep score. Then you will see the stunningly obvious.

Apologists for the rot at the heart of the Islamic faith do nothing to help. They are deniers and enablers.

Face the truth and help weed out the rot. I'm not sure if Islam is saveable as a faith, but we should try. It works in some places, in most it does not.

This isn't about ISIS, ISIL, Al-Qaeda - this is about the cancer eating the heart out of Islam.

You cannot talk about other religions. Followers of those are not blowing themselves up or massacring others. Stand up and be counted. It is not good enough. There are no excuses.

I'm comparing Islam and Christianity. If you want to go back in time and talk about how evil Christianity was in the 16th century, go ahead. I wouldn't expect anything less from such a weakened and solipsistic populace that cannot even criticize the tyranny going on around them.

I wonder if you will correct those people who claim that all Muslims are the same and blame them for violence?

How exactly and I'm getting people killed?

Please explain to me in what way my recognition that no religion is blameless - that every dogma has its extremists who give the others a bad name responsible for killing anyone? In what way does knowledge of history and current events beyond the "Muslims bad, everyone else good" narrative cause deaths?

Brilliant! That's good news indeed.
The Muslims in Egypt have often protected and supported the Christians there. They have lived in peace and harmony for years

And the following day they set the church on fire.
Warning this video is very scary and not intended for snowflake viewing.

And they all scream and chant their infamous "allah snackbar."

This is beginning to happen in the EU and will soon make it to the U.S. if we don't stop it now.
