Does anyone else do this?

I was looking for my purple framed reading glasses just now and whilst looking for it all over in my room and bathroom,i was getting to be in a hurry and scooting all over, and i picked up one of my cats which was laying on my bed. My son laughed,he said:"Ma why you pick up the cat now?" I said: "Because why" and then i realised i Always do this. When i am looking for a missing item,of any size smaller than the cat,i lift up the cat if it's laying down anywhere i'm searching. Idk why. But cats can be so devious So i always check just to be sure.

Anyone else check under the cat?

Mostly because I don't have any cats.

Cats ARE devious. They hide things all the time. Yes, I pick up my cat when looking for lost things. She is likely to move what I am looking for, while I'm looking.

You are not crazy. Your son is observant. This is just what happens naturally when you are in a cat's world for a time.

My cat likes to take my hair ties, i usually find them a couple days later when she's done playing with it. By then, the hair tie is no good. I have to keep buying new ones. I do try to keep them put away but anytime i leave one laying around she gets it.

I know,they can do the most insane things. My three-legged cat also pushes the cats' plastic dinner plates off the counter when they're empty and she wants fed. I have to keep buying new ones I'm just gonna get one big stainless tray for all 5 of them.

My one cat is like that with toilet rolls. She cannot leave a toilet roll alone,and after she's had hold of it,it is Wrecked,may as well throw it away.

That really hits home. My first cat, I was 13, was from Humane Society. She was a terrified kitty. Three paws. They named her tri-pod. She took 3-4 weeks before she would come out of her hidey-holes. When she did, she would poke at me with her "stump"...turn a circle or two, and flop down on me (I watched tv on the floor back then).

To, add to this thread...we had another cat, introduced after Tri-pod had established her space. Ha!

Well...follow the food. Those dinner plates? yeah... My tri-pod made the new cat's (Beuford) bowls disappear...I knew where they were but...every damn day. I had to separate (literally outside and inside).

I'm so glad your 3-legged cat has found a loving home and friend,big hug to you for that! Mine has a fancy name but i usually just call her Poik. It's derived from the Dutch word potjie ( pronounced poikie) In my country,South Africa, a traditional way to cook is outside in one of these:

You use meat and veg,especially potatoes,carrots,greenbeans,mushrooms,bell peppers and onions to add to beef,lamb,venison,any meat even fish and seafood can be done in this way. Very healthy way to cook and very delish.

Yes, Tri-pod was a save (she got a trap under a trailer house). I love that cat. I didn't eat her. She IS long gone and I know exactly where she is.
