McCain calls Turkey a 3rd world country. Turkey is dominated by a single party, the Islamist AKP party. Erdogan jails journalists and has absolute power in Turkey where there is no checks and balances. For once, I agree with McCain. Who does Turkey think it is. In the ME it may be a power, but not on the world stage. A country that can't even build gasoline engine.

Since that's the case, would Turkey start storming the US Airforce base there and take control of the nuclear weapons arsenal?

Alternatively they can purchase a nuclear bomb from North Korea.

Would this then lead to a US invasion of Turkey and fuel the Military Industrial Complex?

Luckily the US is not controlled by one political party.

McCain is blinded by power, the voters should introduce him to the door.

The only reason Turkey is in NATO in the first place is because the US uses it to fight USSR.

McCain being McCain again. We really need to try to get him to retire before he gets so worked up he has a heart attack.

I sure am glad he lost his bid for the presidency. He was a good guy at one time, he needs to just retire and try to find someone else like he used to be to fill his shoes. he did a lot of good for his people in the past, it is time he stepped down and enjoyed the rest of his life. Maybe take up fishing or play pinnacle. He can still share his experience with others in his party, as long as they realize he can get hot headed and irrational now. He still has a lot of knowledge.

Turkey joined NATO in the 1950s at the time when Soviet Russia was merrily occupying Eastern Europe and causing mayhem all over the place. The historical facts speak for themselves. Turkey chose NATO and the protection afforded by mutual defence to being rolled over by the Russians.

Unfortunately Turkey is sliding into autocracy, but they were members the last time they were a dictatorship.

Being a member of NATO does several things for Turkey, including ensuring Russia just farted loudly when they shot down one of their fighters, rather than fighting back.

McCain is none relevant at this point, in his career.

Anyway, Turkey was a big ally of the US during the war in Iraq.

But things has changed in all those years, now their government is a danger.

I find very incredible that Turkey guard got out of the embassy and attacked protestors.

Because they could and can hide under immunity.

Now please correct me if I am wrong, but that is what I understood it happen.

That is my take, I seen it on TV the capitol police beat them up and took some of them on arrest, but they have "immunity".

He really is pushing for a world war. It amazes me people even listen to him at this point. His constant attacks on Russia and allies is sad. He sees everyone as an enemy I think he's lost it

Turks have had the following empires in the past 1000 years :

Khazars , Selcuklus , Mamluklus , Ottomans and lastly Turkish Republic.

By and large , Caucasia , Mesopotamia and Anatolia have been under the Turks thumb for the last 1000 years .

Whomever the Turks chooses to side with will win the " New World Order " .

Tillerson and Mc Gurk will be sacrified sooner or later .

I agree with McCain, no foreign state should ever be allowed to beat upon Americans within our borders. To me is an act of war in a sense. This is our homeland, I promise you if the roles were reversed there would be Americans sitting a jail cells for a long time until the State Department could sort it out. The Turks are disgusting, I watched a video posted here of them firing upon Kurds displaying a white flag crossing the street, murdering a good lot of the them who were unarmed in cold blood. That's some pretty spineless cowardly behavior. They shot them in the back!

That's totally ass-backward. Turks do everything possible to repress the Kurds. The reason Turkey got involved in the Syrian civil war was to make sure the Kurds can't get it together enough to form their own country. The Kurds mainly look out for themselves, but for the most part they've been allied with the Syrian government, or at least not fighting them.

How do you get like this ?

I mean so brainwashed about a Marxist -Leninist Organisation which is run by Armenians by and large .

Allied with Syrian government ?

Under Asad's rule Kurds were lower than donkeys and weren't even granted citizenship .

I live in the most crowded Kurdish City in the WORLD and I have Kurdish relatives too .

Again , how do you get to be soooo clueless and captivated by MSM propaganda ?
