British intelligence passed on (Trump associates' comms with Russians) on to US IC

British and other European intelligence agencies intercepted communications between associates of Donald Trump and Russian officials and other Russian individuals during the campaign and passed on those communications to their US counterparts,

US congressional and law enforcement and US and European intelligence sources tell CNN.

The communications were captured during routine surveillance of Russian officials and other Russians known to western intelligence. British and European intelligence agencies, including GCHQ, the British intelligence agency responsible for communications surveillance, were not proactively targeting members of the Trump team but rather picked up these communications during what's known as "incidental collection," these sources tell CNN.

The European intelligence agencies detected multiple communications over several months between the Trump associates and Russian individuals -- and passed on that intelligence to the US.

This just confirms that GCHQ was indeed involved in spying on the Trump campaign, just like Nepolitano said.

It's no surprise that there were several conversations with Russians - very normal.

Obama's spying antics and his methods of getting around the law are very interesting though. At least we can dispense with the myth that there was no big operation to use govt power around the world to stop Trump.

One good thing is that CNN has admitted how wrong they were. At last.

That's a bigger leap than Neil Armstrong took.

It seems to me if the British and other European intelligence agencies were also picking up worrisome intel on Trump through legal incidental collection, it makes less of a case for "Obama" doing it for "political reasons."

Also, it makes more of a case that something sketchy was going on between Trump associates and Russia.

Well, it cannot be that significant. If it was it would be all over RT.com with the actual messages, especially after Russia discovered Trump was not their lackey.

I love stories with no source. These could have been the "in the pub" musings of a low grade administrator of GCHQ's car park, for all we know. So much fact, yet so little evidence.

I personally don't care for Trump, but some people need to breathe deeply for a minute and think of a new angle.

the one thing that gets me is they obviously didnt find anything substantial cause if they had there is no way in the world trump would have made it to the inauguration. who just were the associates aswell. it could be anyone within his business empire. like was it the CS dept getting a call from a russian person, who knows
