Can't Figure Out How to Friend Someone

Trying to add someone as a friend and I can't figure it

looked at some old posts and they talk about highlighting the blue and clicking the option or whatever; nothing works.

can access the wall, click the heart, no friend options.

looked over the 53.3 redo post by SO and can't find.

what am I missing?

Its the most convoluted, frustrating and "This is impossible" method I've seen in a while.

Reminds me of many of the U.S. Government software applications of the past.

It's right next to the 'Like' button.

It seems i added a friend but i didnt do it deliberately. Perhaps i hit accidently somewhere

So go to their profile, click the heart for "wall" and another heart should load beneath that giving you the option to click to friend. Hope that helps

i get on their wall and click the heart but nothing happens.
maybe one of us doesn't have enough postage for such advanced processes.

okay, I did that with another member and got the second heart to add friend, clicked, but nothing happened.

still processing

I just tried to add a member as friend,and i clicked the add as friend thingy,but he does Not show up on my friends list,though i show up on his?

i have got an idea! perhaps you reached your friend cap limit?

I've been wondering about how to add a friend for 33 years.

Seriously though,i am almost 52yo,and i have had only about 3/4 good friends in my entire life.I would rather spend years without any close good friend than have acquaintences as friends.

Learn something new everyday. Didn't know you could make friends on ATS unless I sent a pm. Now I am extremely sad because I have no friends here and have no idea how to even ask-now feeling lonely-will go and play sad songs.
